Hogwarts Legacy is attempting to capture the magic from the Harry Potter series, using epic locations and vibrant spells to perpetuate the unique qualities present in the Wizarding World. And, based on the footage that fans have seen, it looks as though Warner Bros. Interactive may succeed in doing so. But sensational incantations and glamorous graphics aren't everything, and many gamers have come to expect more from their titles, which makes a recent finding by a Hogwarts Legacy fan on Reddit even more interesting.

Indeed, lots of players are excited about the upcoming Harry Potter game. Hogwarts Legacy won the Gamescom Award for Best Trailer and has been highly anticipated for years. Not everything with the title is perfect, though, as illustrated by a glaring bug found by a Hogwarts Legacy fan in one of the game's trailers.

Reddit user GreedyStonks recently posted a photo to the Hogwarts Legacy subreddit which shows that a portion of the trailer had been impacted by an obvious issue. Namely, one of the buildings was not entirely rendered. The walls, door, and even some stones appear to be missing from the structure. This is a reminder that not everything involving Legacy has been going smoothly. In fact, some players have even been trying to boycott Hogwarts Legacy. But that's not to say that the title hasn't displayed promising gameplay.

In actuality, many Hogwarts Legacy fans had already noticed the glitches. People were quick to comment on the Reddit post, pointing out that the trailer was taken from a version of the game that's more than six months out of date. Players are confident that the official release of Hogwarts Legacy will include improved quests and gameplay, and that the problems from the State of Play trailer will have been addressed by the developers.

Of course, nobody can say for sure how Hogwarts Legacy will be received, but fans of the Harry Potter universe certainly have a reason to hope. As players prepare to take on the role of Hogwarts Legacy's protagonist, there are more positive aspects of the title to consider than there are negatives. For the first time, gamers will be able to enter an open-world wizarding environment and forge their own path through the narrative. With a completely new cast of characters, iconic spells, and beautifully rendered locations from the books, fans will hopefully be able to engage in a Harry Potter adventure like never before.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
