Hogwarts Legacy fans have been on a bit of a rollercoaster lately. A few days ago, Colin Moriarty of the Sacred Symbols podcast claimed that Hogwarts Legacy was in trouble and that the game could very well get delayed to 2023. Developments since then have pushed back against that claim, with the latest news being that Hogwarts Legacy development may actually be going well with the game on track to launch at some point in Q3 of this year.

This information comes from Twitter user AccountNGT, known for leaking information about the gaming industry. AccountNGT reiterated a previous claim they made that Hogwarts Legacy will release in Q3. "The development is going well," they added, which is in stark contrast to the claims that the game is in trouble and may not meet its expected release date.

AccountNGT isn't the first one to seemingly push back against the rumors that Hogwarts Legacy's release date could get delayed to 2023. The official Warner Bros. Interactive Brazil account, while not addressing the rumors specifically, listed Hogwarts Legacy while naming off the company's lineup of games for 2022. This came shortly after the rumors started spreading about its potential release date delay, so some took it as a response, even if it was an indirect one.

Fresh Hogwarts Legacy news is expected to drop at some point soon, as it was previously promised that more information would come in early 2022. While nothing official has been announced, rumor has it that fans may get a Hogwarts Legacy news update of some kind at a PlayStation State of Play event, though Sony has yet to announce any such event.

Industry insiders previously believed that a new Hogwarts Legacy trailer was going to drop at The Game Awards 2021, only for the event to come and go with no mention of the game. It was then said that Warner Bros. has something prepared for Hogwarts Legacy and was going to show it at The Game Awards, only for it to pull the trailer and replace it with the Wonder Woman tease instead. It's unclear if there's any truth to that claim, but regardless, fans haven't seen Hogwarts Legacy for quite some time and are growing impatient.

If a new Hogwarts Legacy trailer is waiting in the wings to be shown at a PlayStation State of Play or revealed another way, perhaps it will provide fans with some clarification about the game's release date. Time will tell, but for now, those looking forward to Hogwarts Legacy should take any rumors about the game with a grain of salt.

Hogwarts Legacy is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
