Avalanche Software is looking towards its next big title after Hogwarts Legacy. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch releases of Hogwarts Legacy are fast approaching, likely leading to a new wave of success for the game set in the Wizarding World. But Avalanche Software is hard at work on a new project already.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy will be available on May 5, while the Nintendo Switch counterpart will hit online and physical stores on July 25. The game enjoyed overall critical acclaim, especially when it comes to the design of the world. Most reviews praised the look of the magical school and the world around it, even if the story itself was found to be the weaker part of Hogwarts Legacy. Overall, the majority of the fans were satisfied with what Avalanche Software created, hoping it'll spawn further content and DLCs. Unfortunately, the director of the game, Alan Tew, has previously stated that currently there are no plans for a DLC, making it more likely that Avalanche Software's focus is already on a different project.

What's certain is Avalanche Software is looking for a software engineer to join its team. The job listing is drawing applicants in by pointing to the studio's success with Hogwarts Legacy, but the advertisement is very specific about wanting to hire someone for "an unannounced AAA console title." The rest of the listing doesn't hint at anything further about the nature of the project, just lists the expected requirements from a software engineer that fits the caliber of a company like Avalanche. Therefore, there's not much more to do for fans but speculate. While Alan Tew said there are no current plans for a DLC, gamers caught onto the phrasing, hoping that "current" means in the future there's space for Avalanche to develop one or more DLCs.

The listing could therefore be for adding DLCs to Hogwarts Legacy, though considering the success of the game, it might also be possible Warner Bros. is already looking at developing the next title in the Wizarding World. Although it's been highly requested by fans that a Quidditch DLC be added to Hogwarts Legacy. The pitch is already present in the game and players would love to see it be used. A third option is that Warner Bros. wants to let the Wizarding World rest for a bit and has an entirely different project in the works that has nothing to do with Hogwarts Legacy.

Historically, there are very few companies that didn't utilize the success of their title to spawn sequels. But Avalanche might be splitting its attention between Hogwarts Legacy and a differently-themed game.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4, and Xbox One versions launching May 5, and a Switch port releasing July 25.
