The Cursed Tomb Treasure is one of the trickiest quests players will encounter in Hogwarts Legacy as it involves deciphering a treasure map. The map contains the location of a chest and how to solve a certain puzzle.
When accepting a side quest, the giver is usually a Wizard, Witch, or even an Elf. In the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest, players will stumble upon the map in a locked chest, which makes learning the Alohomora spell essential to initiate this side quest in Hogwarts Legacy.
Updated August 26th, 2023: There are a lot of hidden treasures to be uncovered in Hogwarts Legacy. Some of these come way of sidequests or maps that players will come across during their travels around each area. How To Trigger The Cursed Tomb Treasure Quest In Hogwarts Legacy
To trigger the Cursed Tomb Treasure side quest, it’s crucial that players complete The Helm of Urtkot main quest and find the treasure map. To find the item, head to Manor Cape Region and fast-travel to the Bainburgh Floo Flame. Summon the Broom or any available mount in Hogwarts Legacy and fly southwest to the abandoned manor. The manor's entrance is swarmed with Inferi, so make sure to equip a fire spell.
Once all the enemies are dealt with, players should climb the west grand staircase and circle around to the left. Defeat even more Inferi and approach the gate to the south. Next, climb the slope and turn right to arrive in front of a skeleton statue, which is a secret entrance. Light the brazier with a fire spell in Hogwarts Legacy to be taken underground.
Players are immediately ambushed by Alisa Travers and later on by the Lord of the Manor. After defeating the enemies, open the locked chest with Alohomora I in the corner to get the map that triggers the Cursed Tomb Treasure quest.
Where To Find The Location On The Treasure Map
Upon inspecting the map, an X is placed on a location that seems to be between two mountains and hidden behind a waterfall. The only known location to have these features is the Tomb of Treachery in the Poidsear Coast Region. Teleport to the tomb’s Floo Flame and enter the cave.
Upon entering the Tomb of Treachery, keep going north until a tomb filled with bones appears. Burn the webs blocking the northern tunnel with a fire spell and continue on to defeat a couple of spiders. To proceed further into the tomb, the locked door requires three Moths to open.
How To Unlock The Moths Door
The first and second Moths are inside the room on the right side:
- The first one can be seen immediately.
- The second one is guarded by some webs that are removed using a fire spell.
- Guide both Moths in Hogwarts Legacy using Lumos to the door.
The third and final Moth is inside the room to the left where a small box can be seen behind some webs. To collect the Moth:
- Get rid of the webs blocking the box.
- Use Accio to pull the box underneath the high platform.
- Cast Levioso to levitate it.
- Climb the box to reach the platform.
- Use Lumos on the Moth and guide it back to the door.
Now that the Moth door is finally unlocked in Hogwarts Legacy, the final room is filled with Inferi. Defeat the enemies to solve the final puzzle inside the tomb.
How To Solve The Tomb Of Treachery Puzzle
There are eight tiles in total on the floor, which resemble the drawing on the map. To solve it, players must cast Flipendo to flip three tiles according to the image shown on the treasure map. After that, the square in the middle will rise to reveal a treasure chest, which contains the Treasure-Seeker’s Attire Appearance and 400 Galleons.
