A Hogwarts Legacy player has made a surprising discovery, even after 140 hours of playtime. The open world of Hogwarts Legacy still has plenty of things for players to uncover, as shown by this particular encounter with one of the game's NPCs.

Over a month after the game was initially released, Hogwarts Legacy players continue to discover every interesting quirk the game has hidden away. Pre-release, there was plenty of noise surrounding J.K Rowling's enduring controversy, with many gamers boycotting the title due to her continuing remarks about the transgender community. Hogwarts Legacy's great sales figures show that developer Avalanche Software's attempts to detach itself from Rowling's views have paid off, with many gamers enjoying Hogwarts Legacy while separating it from its connection to Rowling.

The discovery was made by Redditor jaraxoo, who actually managed to find a person lying in bed in Hogwarts Legacy. It might seem like a small discovery to many players, but it's actually quite a rare sight in-game. Players can explore the incredible rendition of Hogwarts Legacy's castle at night in the game, but actually finding people while they're in bed is a different task entirely. Even still, for a player to not encounter anyone in bed until after 140 hours of play is quite remarkable. Most gamers will see most of what the game has to offer after around 60-70 hours of play, so it's interesting to see there's still more to find for even the most experienced of players.

Gamers in the thread were quick to make jokes about the rare discovery. The most common remark claimed that the person appeared to be dead rather than sleeping, with another user claiming they could be Petrified. Without full context, it's impossible to say if this interesting discovery is down to one of Hogwarts Legacy's many spells. Some in the thread joked that they were actually just pretending to be asleep to avoid going to class.

As time passes, players are becoming nervous about what the future holds for the game. Despite extremely strong initial sales figures, Hogwarts Legacy's player count has dropped dramatically in the weeks after release. The game has plenty of content to explore, but gamers have already exhausted most of it. Avalanche Software maintains the position that no DLC is incoming for the game, although it seems as though that needs to change if the developer is to draw players back into the Wizarding World. The desire for the DLC is there, and Avalanche Software just needs to deliver it.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
