The Harry Potter franchise has become renowned for the unique locations seen throughout its installments. With each entry to the series, numerous areas are created for fans to get lost in. With Hogwarts Legacy aiming for a 2022 release, fans of the series are beginning to wonder if their favorite locations will appear and, more importantly, if they will be explorable.

The title would imply that the player is restricted to the confines of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but this is not the case. The player will have the option to explore the outskirts of the Hogwarts campus, giving them the chance to journey to Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest, and other locations. Some seen in Hogwarts Legacy have never been explorable, so fans are hoping to see more upon the game's full release.

10 Knockturn Alley

If Diagon Alley appears in Hogwarts Legacy, many fans are curious about whether they will be allowed to explore its more frightening subsection, Knockturn Alley. Unlike its more charming counterpart, Knockturn Alley specializes in the Dark Arts.

9 Hagrid's Hut

The State of Play trailer briefly featured a structure that looked similar to Hagrid's Hut. Though only the outside of the building is shown, it would be interesting if developers allowed the player to uncover the secrets hidden within.

Since Hogwarts Legacy is set approximately one hundred years before Harry Potter's enrollment in the school, the mere existence of Hagrid's Hut in the State of Play trailer would suggest that it once had a different purpose. Fans are eager to uncover what lurks behind these thick and mysterious walls.

8 The Chamber Of Secrets

There is a brief shot in the State of Play trailer where the protagonist of Hogwarts Legacy examines the head of a giant statue. This statue's design is reminiscent of the statue seen in the Chamber of Secrets, so perhaps this shot is confirming the basilisk's dwelling place as an explorable location.

Supposedly created by Salazar Slytherin one thousand years before the events of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, an explorable Chamber of Secrets would allow fans of the series to learn more about its history.

7 The Hufflepuff Common Room

Hogwarts Legacy will mark the first depiction of the Hufflepuff Common Room in the Harry Potter series. Though the protagonist is briefly seen wandering through the common room in the State of Play trailer, fans are hopeful that it will consist of more than just one room.

Having never appeared before, there is great potential for developers at Avalanche Software to create an immersive experience for those who opt for Hufflepuff as their house. Until it releases, however, fans can only hope that more than one room is contributed to the Hufflepuff Common Room.

6 Gringotts Wizarding Bank

Gringotts Goblin

Once perceived to be nothing more than a typical bank, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 revealed that there is vast and dangerous land hidden beneath the Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

If given the opportunity to explore what lies beneath Gringotts Wizarding Bank, the player may be given the chance to uncover more details regarding the inner workings of the bank itself. The player may even be able to explore different vaults while encountering a variety of creatures that are tasked with denying the player entry.

5 Ollivander's Wand Shop

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on the PS2 allowed the player to explore the backrooms of Ollivander's Wand Shop. The area behind the shop was visually similar to a giant warehouse that housed countless crates full of wands.

Hogwarts Legacy will see the protagonist journeying to Ollivander's Wand Shop to buy their first wand, so it is not impossible for the shop to be explorable as it was in previous games. The player may be forced to solve a series of challenges throughout the store to discover what wand is right for them. It would be a shame not to explore such an iconic location.

4 The Shrieking Shack

Sirius Black and Remus Lupin at the Shrieking Shack in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

During the state of Play trailer, the protagonist is seen walking alongside Nearly Headless Nick as they wander through what appears to be a graveyard. One of the buildings in the background of this scene is reminiscent of the Shrieking Shack, depicted in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Fans of the series will be most familiar with the Shrieking Shack's importance for the Marauders when they attempted to control Remus Lupin's werewolf transformations. Its presence in Hogwarts Legacy would permit the play to discover what it was like before James Potter's time at Hogwarts.

3 Quidditch Stadium

The Quidditch Stadium is one of the most iconic locations seen in the Wizarding World. Though many games allowed the player to play Quidditch in the stadium, there have been very few instances where the player can explore the stadium on foot.

If the Quidditch Stadium of Hogwarts were to be explorable, it would permit the player to discover the secrets held behind its thin walls. The player could explore the locker rooms, the stands, and the grounds themselves. Since not much of the Quidditch Stadium is seen in the franchise, Hogwarts Legacy could expand its design.

2 The Black Lake

The Black Lake is a vast body of water surrounding Hogwarts. It is home to numerous magical creatures with a giant squid being the most renowned beast dwelling in its depths. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fires sees Harry exploring the depths of the lake, revealing that it is an environment bursting with life.

Though it has been briefly explored already, there is so much Hogwarts Legacy could hide beneath the Great Lake. Having never seen the giant squid in live-action, the protagonist could befriend the beast if given the chance to meet it.

1 Hogsmeade Station

The Trio On The Hogwarts Express

Acting as the destination for the Hogwarts Express, Hogsmeade Station marks the beginning of a student's journey in the Wizarding World. For the most part, Hogsmeade Station is only briefly seen or mentioned as it serves to be nothing more than the middle point of Hogwarts and King's Cross Station, but Hogwarts Legacy could expand its history.

Hogsmeade Station could be a relaxing location for the player to journey to. It could allow them to explore the carriages of the Hogwarts Express while also meeting an array of unique witches and wizards.

Hogwarts Legacy is set to release in 2022.
