An interview reveals that Hogwarts Legacy will feature more than 100 non-linear side quests that can possibly manipulate the main campaign. Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set to launch on PC and current-gen consoles in just a couple of weeks.

A recent leak suggested that gamers will take around 35 hours to finish the main story of Hogwarts Legacy, with users spending around 70 hours for 100% completion. This news came via a leaked art book that shared other interesting pieces of information, such as the inventory management screen and the world map, from the game. Now, a new report gives players a better idea about the number of side quests in Hogwarts Legacy, along with how these missions can have a possible impact on the main campaign.

In an interview with GamesRadar+, narrative director and advanced game writer Moira Squier gives players an insight into Hogwarts Legacy’s side quests. Squier first mentions that the story of Hogwarts Legacy is complicated and engaging, and players’ decisions will allow them to experience a unique version of the tale. Squier further notes that interacting with a character in a side quest will impact how fans interact with them in the story, allowing them to “manipulate the main campaign” in a way.

Additionally, GamesRadar+ reports that there doesn’t look to be a set order in which users are required to complete these missions. Squier then confirms that the order in which gamers finish the side quests will have an impact on their own experience with Hogwarts Legacy and its story.

There is a lot to unpack from this interview, but it looks like Hogwarts Legacy will feature a ton of non-linear side quests that will affect how players interact with the world and its characters. It was previously confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will have different endings depending upon player choices, but it seems like the game will also be filled with several, more subtle, changes throughout the world.

A lot of information and clips from Hogwarts Legacy were released in the last few days, giving players a better idea of its gameplay mechanics and features. For example, one video from Hogwarts Legacy showed dragons fighting in a fit, while another confirmed that players can pet cats in the game. Hogwarts Legacy looks to be a sprawling open-world RPG and, judging by this interview, each fan’s experience with the story will seemingly be unique in some ways.

Hogwarts Legacy launches February 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and the Switch version launching on July 25.
