Hitman 3 has arrived. IO Interactive's stealth game brings freedom in gameplay (allowing for Hitman levels to be completed in 17 seconds), beautiful visuals, world-traveling espionage, and more. But Hitman 3 also has a few interesting design slip-ups from developer IO Interactive; ones that the team is already working on fixing.

Among the many locations that Agent 47 travels to in Hitman 3, Dubai happens to be one of them. And although the game is extremely detailed, one simple mistake has quickly been realized and passed around online by Arabic speaking players. In Hitman 3, the Arabic text is backwards.

Hitman 3 released to great praise on January 20, 2021, just a few days ago. But the game is not without flaws. One issue has to do with the Arabic writing in the Dubai level, something that players have passed along on social media like Twitter and Reddit. While English is written and therefore read from left to right, Arabic is written and read from right to left. But in Hitman 3, the Arabic text is spread throughout the level on signs and various locations from left to right, as if it were English.

Graphic designer at IO Interactive Morten Elgaard has quickly caught on to the community calling out this mishap. According to Elgaard, steps are already being made to rectify the issue. While it certainly is not the end of the world for text to be backwards in the Dubai level of Hitman 3, it can be disorienting for those who speak the language. The immersion level also gets broken quickly when things like that are not right.

Other than the Arabic text issue, Agent 47's stealth game is still not a perfect title, unfortunately. Among a few things, Hitman 3 has struggled with server hiccups since the game launched. The hope is that the servers will calm down shortly and that IO Interactive can work on addressing any network concerns. A part of the issue had to do with carrying over progress from previous Hitman games, and IO Interactive had been hard at work fixing the problems.

Overall, the game has been a massive hit, as Hitman 3 has had the biggest digital launch for IO Interactive and the series yet. The Hitman games have also gotten creative over the years, including offering episodic titles, a strategic game named Hitman GO on mobile, and even releasing Hitman 3 on the Nintendo Switch via the cloud. In a genre once filled with many games, Hitman is now one of the more popular stealth-based espionage titles.

Hitman 3 is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
