Sound effects are an integral part of the video game experience. From the coin sound in the popular Super Mario games to the iconic noise of Pac-Man gobbling up Power Pellets, the sounds heard in games are often as memorable as the visuals seen on the screen. Recently, one content creator decided to use some of the iconic sound effects from Fortnite in an unusual way in Call of Duty: Warzone.

While some players are waiting for the arrival of Call of Duty: Vanguard later this year, many players are continuing to dive into Warzone. Released last year, the Battle Royale brought the exciting first-person shooter action of the franchise to Verdansk, the game’s massive map. While players have grown accustomed to glitches and cheaters over the past year, several players were surprised when they heard Fortnite sound effects in the game.

Recently, a TikTok user known as nixstahszn came up with the idea of trolling Warzone players by playing sound effects from Fortnite. Using a soundboard, the content creator compiled a library of some of the most iconic noises from Epic Games’ popular battle royale. He then joined games with random teammates and began playing the sound effects.

As one might expect, his random squad members were caught off guard by the unusual situation. Adding to the comedic effect, nixstahszn managed to sync the sound effects to the in-game actions of his character. When he would get knocked in Warzone, the corresponding sound effect from Fortnite would play. However, his teammates did recognize the sounds the content creator was playing such as when he used the noise for the Shield Potion from Fortnite as he added armor in Warzone. It was a strange combination, as the sound effects added a cartoonish feel to the otherwise serious action.

This new video from nixstahszn has become a hit on social media. Since posting the clip, it has accumulated over 7.8 million views on TikTok. Besides this video trolling players with Fortnite sounds, the gamer has posted several other videos using soundboards in Warzone. Due to the popularity of these videos, nixstahszn has gained over 26.6 million likes and 924,000 followers on the social media platform.

While nixstahszn continues to troll Warzone players with soundboards, he will soon be doing it on a different map. Recently, the developer revealed that the new Warzone Pacific map was coming to the game. Just as large as the previous one, this map trades the war-torn streets of Verdansk for a lush tropical island. While the developers haven't given an exact release date for the new map, they revealed that it is expected to come by the end of the year.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
