On top of that, speculations have been flying that his studio Kojima Productions was in the lineup to be acquired by PlayStation Studios, but the man himself took to Twitter to say that there will be no acquisition.According to a recent tweet, Kojima Productions will not be merging with PlayStation, and Kojima clarified that his company will continue to be an "independent studio." The rumor began after a banner on the PlayStation website, specifically for PS Studios, swapped out an image of Concrete Genie and replaced it with Death Stranding, leading many to believe that the tech giant was about to acquire Kojima's outfit. However, it looks as though this is not the case, and Kojima says that it's simply a misunderstanding.With PlayStation acquiring a number of game studios recently, including God of War: Ragnarok developer Valkyrie Entertainment and Sony buying Bungie for a massive sum, it's not surprising that many thought Kojima Productions was next. For good or ill, Hideo Kojima seems steadfast that no acquisition is currently in the works, which many gamers may find a relief.
