Paranormal Liberation War

Paranormal Liberation Front My Hero Academia

The final episode of season 5 saw the students and every other hero gather to partake in a secret mission. As it turns out, it won't be a mission but rather a full-blown war. Yes, the sixth season will focus heavily on one of the most influential arcs in the entire series, the Paranormal Liberation War Arc.

Thanks to intel from Hawks, who infiltrate the Paranormal Liberation Front, the heroes manage to find the location of two crucial facilities of the Front. The hospital where they create different Nomu and the secret hideout where every member of the Paranormal Liberation Front currently gathers.

Other than the time and location of the meeting, Hawks also finds out about the number of the villains that will be there, around 100,000 people strong. That's why in order to equalize the number, the pro heroes have to get the support from the rest of the U.A. students, which was basically where the series left off in season 5.

All-out Battle Between Heroes and Villains

To continue from the previous point, since it is basically the biggest war between the two opposing sides, the Paranormal Liberation War will showcase an all-out battle between virtually every hero and every villain. Most of them have been featured on the series in one way or another before, but there will also be some new characters that make their debut in this arc, especially on the villain side.

This war is actually quite massive for My Hero Academia's standards, but it is certainly not on the level of Naruto's series-ending Ninja War Arc. It is, however, quite comparable to the chaotic war between Pirates and Navy in One Piece's Marineford Arc.

Shocking Deaths

Tomura Shigaraki With Broken Arm Standing Among Rubble

Speaking of the Marineford Arc, fans saw the death of some of One Piece's most iconic and beloved characters in that arc. Unfortunately, that is also the case in the upcoming Paranormal Liberation War Arc. There will be death on both sides for heroes and villains. And it's not just minor characters either, some major characters will lose their lives in this arc. Fans might feel bad about losing some of these beloved heroes, but they will be surprised by the deaths of some villains as well.

As if that's still not enough, numerous heroes will also suffer critical injuries during this war. Some injuries may force them to retire from the frontlines completely, while other types of injuries will greatly hinder their ability to do their job properly. Needless to say, the same thing is also true for the villains. The Paranormal Liberation War is a devastating event for both sides and will forever change the power dynamics in the series.

The True Power of One For All

Deku from My Hero Academia

The previous season of My Hero Academia revealed that there are several quirks inside Deku's One For All. Other than All Might's super strength, which is not actually one of the quirks in One For All's repertoire, the one that has manifested thus far is a quirk called Blackwhip.

Blackwhip is a quirk from the fifth One For All user. It manifests in the form of a black whip-like energy that can be used just like a grappling rope to either catch a distant object or pull the user upwards or forwards. It can even be used to tie up enemies. It is essentially similar to Spider-Man's web.

In the Paranormal Liberation War, Deku is finally able to tap the power from the other users of One For All. That being said, just like with Blackwhip, he won't be able to control them properly at first. But as time goes by, all of these powers will become a crucial asset not only to Deku, but also to the hero association in their effort to take down All For One and Shigaraki.

A Shocking Revelation About Dabi

Dabi from My Hero Academia

Last but not least is a revelation about one of the iconic villains in the series; the notorious fire user, Dabi. Amidst the chaotic battle between the heroes and the villains in the Paranormal Liberation War Arc, Dabi releases a damning video where he talks about his past to the public.

This video will reveal a colossal controversy that will drag one of the top heroes down through the mud. It will cause deep and widespread repercussion that will shake the foundation of trust between the public and heroes.

Those are some of the most exciting things that await fans in season six of My Hero Academia. Based on the story presented in the manga, the sixth season will be the biggest and most important storyline within the series. The world of My Hero Academia won't be the same after the Paranormal Liberation War Arc, so be sure to stay tuned for it.
