The world of anime is extremely vast, but only a handful of series have managed to achieve success on a global scale, and over the past five years, My Hero Academia has become one of those series. It takes place in a world where most of the population has some type of quirk (superpower), and it focuses on Izuku Midoriya – a quirkless teenage boy who is given a quirk by his personal hero, All Might.

My Hero Academia: 6 Possible Endings For The Series
It's fun to speculate how the My Hero Academia series might end. These examples are a few possible scenarios.

There are a lot of powerful quirks in this universe, and not everyone uses them for good; in fact, there is an entire league of criminals who are dedicated to villainy. Since villains exist, Heroes do too, and they all possess quirks that are both powerful and versatile, but some of these Hero quirks are more powerful than the rest.

Updated on January 23, 2024, by George Voutiritsas: My Hero Academia debuted in 2014, and it has gone on to become one of the more popular anime and manga series in the world. The series has one of the best power systems in all of anime, as the majority of individuals in MHA are born with their Quirks. As the story has progressed, fans have seen a number of unique and versatile quirks on both the Hero and Villain sides, and some of the best quirks happen to belong to Pro Heroes. The war with the Paranormal Liberation Front is over, and Season 6 is coming to a close, so it only seems fair to recognize a few more of MHA's best Hero Quirks.

33 Somnambulist

R-Rated Hero: Midnight

Midnight died during the war with the Paranormal Liberation Front, but she went out fighting. She possessed the Somnambulist Quirk, which allowed her to put people to sleep. This occurred because she was able to produce a sleep-inducing aroma from her bare skin.

This Quirk worked better on males, which means that she could have technically beaten All Might in his prime. She used a feather fan during combat so that she could better spread her aroma, and her costume was designed to tear easily so her skin could be exposed.

32 Shield

Shield Hero: Crust

Shoot Shield

Crust may have received very limited screen time, but at the time of his death, he was the No. 6 ranked Pro Hero in japan. Thanks to the Shield Quirk, he was able to create stone-like hexagon-shaped shields by growing them from his body.

He could expand his shields into larger shapes, and he would often use them to protect himself and others. This Quirk is great for defense, but it can also be used for offense. Crust could sharpen his shield's edges to turn them into weapons, and he could perform ranged attacks by throwing them.

31 Dragon

Dragoon Hero: Ryukyu

Ryukyu is currently Japan's No. 10 Pro Hero, and she hired Uravity and Froppy during their Hero Work-Studies. She possesses the Dragon Quirk, and it allows her to transform into a large Western dragon. While in this form, Ryukyu gains powerful jaws and claws. She also gets a pair of large wings that give her the ability to fly.

She receives a massive strength boost when she transforms, and her durability significantly increases as well. She is extremely resistant to blunt trauma, as evidenced by the fact that her body was able to withstand a direct hit from Tomura Shigaraki when he possessed All Might-level strength.

30 Voice

Voice Hero: Present Mic

Ultimate Move

Loud Voice

Based on his appearance, Present Mic looks like comic relief, but when it comes to being a Pro Hero, he is a serious individual. His Quirk is called Voice, and it gives him the ability to increase the volume of his voice to such a degree that he basically unleashes a sonic scream.

This Quirk is strong enough to shatter glass and blow things away, and it can cause people's ears to bleed from a distance. Thanks to Mic's Directional Speaker System, he can aim his amplified voice in a specific direction.

29 Heal

Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl

Ultimate Move

Currently Unknown

In terms of actual combat ability, Recovery Girl is one of the series' weakest characters, but she still possesses one of the strongest quirks in MHA. It is called Heal, and it pairs well with her medical expertise. Like the name suggests, it allows her to heal others, and she does so by amplifying the human body's natural healing process.

She can only activate this quirk by kissing the injured person, and the actual healing process is dependent on the patient's overall life force. She may not be able to do anything about missing limbs, but she can heal broken limbs and bones in just a few seconds.

28 Zero Gravity

Uravity

Uraraka Using Zero Gravity During The Provisionary License Exam in My Hero Academia

Ultimate Move

Meteor Storm

Ochaco Uraraka is one of the most improved students from Class 1-A, thus making her one of the best female characters in My Hero Academia. She may not seem like a fighter, but she has a tactical mind, and she has trained in martial arts to better utilize her Quirk.

Zero Gravity allows her to nullify the effects of gravity on solid objects. This causes the objects to become weightless and float. She needs to touch objects with her fingertips, and she can release the effect by touching her fingertips together. This ability is great for restraining villains since they will keep floating, and she can move debris or use it as a weapon.

27 Jet

Gran Torino

Gran Torino kicking a Nomu in My Hero Academia

Quirk Type

Mutabt

Sorahiko Torino retired some time ago, but he still helps other Pro Heroes from time to time. He was once a teacher at U.A. High School, and he was a mentor for Izuku Midoriya and All Might. He possesses the Jet Quirk - which gives him a pair of holes on the soles of his feet. He can shoot jets of air out of these holes

These air jets grant him incredible speed - in fact he is considered one of the fastest Pro Heroes in the world. Jet allows him to fly in the air for short distances, and it significantly increases the strength of his kicks. Despite Sorahiko's advanced age, he can still deal serious damage to genetically enhanced Nomus. He can also knock out several villains in a matter of seconds.

26 Fat Absorption

BMI Hero: Fat Gum

A Villain stuck in Fat Gum's Quirk in My Hero Academia

Quirk Type

Transformation

Ultimate Move

Fataxi

Taishiro Toyomitsu is now Japan's 58th ranked Pro Hero, and his Fat Absorption Quirk is highly effective during combat. An object or person will get stuck if they make physical contact with Taishiro's body, and they will then get sucked into his fat. As a result, Fat Absorption makes Taishiro resistant to blades, bullets, and Quirks that boost physical damage.

He can also store kinetic energy inside his fat, and he can convert that energy into strength. This conversion ability allowed Taishiro to fight two highly trained Yakuza fighters - including Kendo Rappa, who possesses one of the strongest melee Quirks. Unfortunately, this ability weakens Taishiro's defense because it forces him to burn his own fat.

25 Hardening

Sturdy Hero: Red Riot

Red Riot Unbreakable

Eijiro Kirishima is one of the students from Class 1-A, and he interned with Fat Gum after he received his Provisional Hero License. His quirk is called Hardening, and as its name suggests, it allows him to harden any part of his body. As a result, his body becomes rock-like and jagged.

This quirk gives Eijiro enhanced durability, but there is a limit to the amount of damage he can take before his hardening wears off. That being said, he has been able to strengthen his hardening through training. With this power, Eijiro can withstand most physical attacks and point-blank explosions.

24 Cement

Cementoss

Cementoss may look like a living slab of concrete, but he is indeed human, and he is actually one of the best teachers at U.A. high school. His Quirk is called Cement, and as its name suggests, it allows him to manipulate any kind of cement that he touches.

He can use this ability to restrain people, but he is mainly shown creating large slabs that can withstand a great deal of damage. He can manipulate the cement into any form or size that he likes, and there does not seem to be a time limit. Recovery Girl stated that this Quirk is one of the most difficult for other teachers to fight against.

23 Arbor

Kamui Woods

Lacquered Chain Prison

There are quite a few anime characters with wood-based powers, and the current No.7 Pro Hero is one of them. His name is Kamui Woods, and his powerful quirk, called Arbor, allows him to enlarge and control his wooden body parts. He uses this power to create fairly durable tree branches.

These branches are meant to immobilize Kamui's opponents, and he does this by surrounding and binding them. It is true that this quirk is extremely weak to fire, but when it comes to capturing villains, it is highly effective.

22 Gigantification

Mineyama Hero: Mt. Lady

Believe it or not, size does play a factor in battle, and that is why Yu Takeyama's quirk is so effective. She is known as Mount Lady, and she is currently the No. 23 ranked Pro Hero in Japan. She possesses one of the best quirks in MHA, the Gigantification Quirk, and it allows her to grow to a gigantic size.

There is no middle ground with this ability though, as she can only choose to be her normal height or her giant height, which is taller than some large buildings. She can take on large villains like Gigantomachia, and all of her physical attacks are significantly enhanced.

21 Foldabody

Ninja Hero: Edgeshot

As the current No. 4 Pro Hero, Edgeshot is one of the best heroes in Japan, and he is the leader of a Pro Hero team called The Lurkers. He possesses the Foldabody quirk, which gives him the ability to make his body and limbs extremely long and thin.

Edgeshot can basically turn his entire body into a razor-sharp string, and this transformation occurs faster than the speed of sound. Edgeshot uses this quirk to move around very quickly, and he can use it to get into tight spaces. When attacking, he can pierce his opponents by folding his body into sharp shapes.

20 Dark Shadow

Black Abyss

Fumikage Tokoyami's head may resemble that of a crow, but he is still very much human, and his quirk actually has nothing to do with it. His quirk is called Dark Shadow, and it allows him to produce a completely sentient shadow creature that is connected to his body.

Tokoyami can use this strong quirk to pummel villains without having to get close to them, but Dark Shadow's energy will drain quickly if it is exposed to very bright light. Through extensive training, Tokoyami's control has improved to the point that he can now wear Dark Shadow like a suit of armor.

19 Foresight

Sir Nighteye

Nighteye & Foresight's Activation in My Hero Academia

Quirk Type

Emitter

Ultimate Move

Currently Unknown

Sir Nighteye ran one of the best Pro Hero agencies in Japan, which is to be expected since he was once All Might's trusted sidekick. Nighteye was a tall and lean individual, and thanks to his Foresight quirk, he was a very competent hand-to-hand fighter.

Foresight allowed Nighteye to see another person's future from a 3rd person perspective. In order to activate this quirk, Nighteye needs to touch and make eye contact with his target, but it can only stay active for an hour, and if it is used, it can't be used again for 24 hours. This quirk may have a time limit, but it allows him to react to virtually any attack before it happens.

18 Copy

Phantom Thief

Neito Monoma using Kirishima's Quirk, My Hero Academia

Quirk Type

Emitter

Ultimate Move

Currently Unknown

The Copy Quirk was first used during the U.A. Sports Festival Arc, and it gives Neito Monoma the ability to copy another person's Quirk. He can only copy a Quirk if he makes physical contact with the original owner, and he can actually store up to four Quirks at a time. He can only keep the copied powers for ten minutes.

He cannot effectively use Quirks that require some type of stored resource, and his body will not be able to withstand Quirks that require years of physical conditioning. That being said, he can still use each Quirk to its full extent. He can copy and use many of the best Pro Hero Quirks to help others during large-scale operations, and he can technically fight villains with their own Quirks.

17 Orcinus

Killer Whale Hero: Gang Orca

Kugo Sakamata may look like a villain, but he is actually Japan's No. 12 Pro Hero. People are afraid of him because he looks like a monstrous human-whale hybrid. This is the result of his Orcinus Quirk - which gives him the attributes and abilities of a Killer Whale.

Kugo possesses enhanced physical strength, and his body is durable enough to block Deku's Full Cowl - Shoot Style without sustaining much damage. He can also produce hypersonic waves that instantly paralyze his target. This means that he can literally stop villains in their tracks. Once they're immobile, he can deliver powerful blows to knock them out.

16 Wave Motion

Nejire Flood

Nejire is considered the strongest female student at U.A. High School, and she could have easily inherited One For All because of her intelligence and dedication. Her Wave Motion Quirk gives her the ability to convert her life force into a special type of energy. She produces powerful spiral shockwaves each time she releases this energy.

She can use these shockwaves to fly, and she can fire strong ranged blasts. Nejire can also use Wave Motion to strengthen the force of her punches and kicks. The shockwaves can be used to push civilians to safety, and they can restrain villains. Wave Motion is very versatile, but it consumes a lot of stamina.

15 Rabbit

Best Jeanist wears a comical amount of denim, but he also happens to be the current No. 3 Pro Hero. His quirk is called Fiber Master, and it gives him the ability to manipulate the threads of any piece of nearby fabric.

Tsunagu Hakamada's quirk works best with denim, which is why he uses his own clothing to restrain villains. As long as his opponent is wearing some type of clothing, Jeanist can use his quirk to turn their own clothing against them, and this usually involves tightening string around their necks to knock them unconscious.
