Capcom's Resident Evil series is known for its use of creepy settings, horrific monsters, and an overall tense atmosphere. From Lickers and zombie dogs to mutating monsters and mutants, there are plenty of iconic creatures that are almost guaranteed to keep players up at night. And with the upcoming release of Resident Evil Village, Capcom is pushing the horror (and marketing) even more.

The latest marketing effort from Capcom comes in the form of a Saturday morning cartoon styled animation that takes several of the characters in Resident Evil Village and turns them into felt puppets and the result is quite charming.

Fans of the upcoming survival horror title are most likely already familiar with the very tall woman known as Lady Dimitrescu, as there have been many fans spreading their love for her all over social media sites. Capcom has even gone out of its way to promote the character by placing her design on a bath towel of all things. The mistress of the Resident Evil Village castle makes an appearance in the advertisement as the lead role, while some other characters such as Karl Heisenberg make an appearance as well.

The three-minute video was posted to Capcom's Japanese Resident Evil YouTube channel and is an interesting take on the cast of spooky characters. The entirety of the video is spoken in Japanese, but thanks to the high-quality puppet animations, even someone that doesn't quite understand what's going on can get an idea of the scenario presented to viewers. The title of the video translated to English is "Biohazard Village x Puppet Show "Play in Bio Village" Episode 1." This could mean that Capcom will release other episodes as the game comes closer to release.

As of the time of writing, the video has gotten almost 400,000 views with only 171 dislikes, so it seems that the majority of Resident Evil Village fans are finding the video to be highly enjoyable and entertaining. Capcom has yet to release an English version of the video to its other Resident Evil channel, but since this version is already getting lots of attention, hopefully the developer/publisher will create one for western audiences.

While folks wait for an English version of the trailer, they can check out the latest Resident Evil Village demo that's been recently extended for players. Gamers in North America will have from May 1 to May 9 to check out the demo and those in the UK will have from May 2 to May 10. The demo will give RE fans 60 minutes to explore the game's terrifying setting before the game launches next week.

Resident Evil Village launches May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
