Henry Cavill is well aware of one of the biggest complaints about The Witcher, even from the Netflix series' most loyal fans. However, the actor also believes that The Witcher season 2 has largely fixed that particular problem.

While the first season of The Witcher on Netflix was mostly a massive success among critics and in terms of viewership numbers, some people found the story hard to follow. That's because the story was told with several different timelines, which was seemingly done to keep audiences guessing about what was coming next. While that might have been the big trick of the show last season, Cavill wants fans to know that The Witcher season 2 will be quite a bit easier to follow.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Cavill said he believes that complaints about how The Witcher season 1 unfolded are "fair." He added that he understands that it was hard for some people to keep track of all that was happening. He also said that even people who knew the lore were having problems keeping up with everything because the Netflix show was an original story. Cavill then assured fans that season 2 of The Witcher is what he described as "leaner." He added that he thinks the story is a bit more clear now and that's definitely a good thing.

Speaking more about The Witcher season 2, Cavill also admitted that shooting for this particular run was quite a bit more difficult than the first go-round. He pointed out that COVID made the shooting rather "taxing." Part of that was because he felt as though everyone having to wear masks whenever they weren't actually shooting their scenes took some of the human element out of the process. Not being able to shake people's hands or hug them after a tough scene was something that took more out of Cavill than he thought it would. He also said that the masks kept him from getting the usual human signals he could get from people while they were preparing to shoot a scene.

Despite the difficulties in shooting this season and the changes that had to be made to the way the story is told, season 2 is officially out for the masses to consume. With The Witcher season 3 on track for the future even before the second season aired on the streaming service, it seems as though the wait for the next run may not be as long as people had to wait this time around.
