Unlocking the Principal Door is a very crucial step in Hello Neighbor 2 Back to School DLC as it allows Quentin to reach the bottom floor of the school. Sadly, the building is being guarded by the Janitor along with his three dogs, making the exploration a tad more difficult as players need to avoid multiple characters instead of one.
Another annoying factor in Hello Neighbor 2 Back to School DLC is that the Principal Door is only opened using the key that the Janitor carries all the time. This forces players into a series of complicated steps to take the key and open the door.
How To Unlock Principal Door In Back To School DLC In Hello Neighbor 2
To unlock the Principal Door in Hello Neighbor 2 Back To School DLC, Quentin must activate the generator which forces the Janitor to head inside the shed, leaving the key hanging outside. This complicated mission can be done by completing the following steps:
- Get the key to the shed.
- Grab the generator room key.
- Unlock the gate that leads to the generator room.
- Obtain the Principal Door key.
Getting The Key To The Shed
This is probably the easiest one out of all three steps. Upon unlocking the big black gates, head left to the backyard behind the school. One of the Janitor’s dogs will be there holding a key in its mouth. Luckily, this one seems friendlier than the other dogs, as players can make it drop the key in Hello Neighbor 2 by throwing it a random toy to play with.
Grabbing The Generator Room Key
Unlike the previous key, this one is more complicated.
- From the school’s back door, enter the first room to the left and grab the crowbar for later.
- Next, get out and take the stairs to the left and enter the room up ahead.
- A light bulb puzzle can be seen on the board.
- To solve it, interact with the telescope and search for the raven’s sign.
- Memorize the picture and apply it to the one on the board.
- Before moving on, collect a Flask from the desk for later.
- Climb the platforms to the right and jump onto the spinning planets.
- Go through the hole in the wall and take the lever from the ground.
- Head outside the school’s front door and approach the flag pole.
- Insert the lever and wait for the generator room key to come down.
Unlocking The Gate That Leads To The Generator Room
Two crucial steps are necessary to unlock the generator room; obtaining a red wheel, deciphering the password, and unlocking the coded cage.
Red Wheel Location
On the first floor near the back door, head inside the toilets to the left. Walk to the end of the bathrooms and use the crowbar to remove the planks. The red wheel will be seen inside.
Finally, enter the classroom left of the front gate and place the red wheel on the pipes then turn it on. This step will be useful later when players are searching for the password.
Deciphering The Password
Before entering the classroom to solve the puzzle, go through the door at the end of the hallway, across the Principal’s Office. A stream of hot water will fall down from the pipe thanks to the red wheel. Throw the Flask under the water to fill it. From the back door, walk a few steps forward then enter the classroom to the right. A big 52 will be written on the board, it’s the first two numbers of the passcode. Approach the ice blocking the chalkboard from moving and use the Flask.
By turning the wheel from the previous step, hot air starts to come out of the fan near the ice, making it melt inside the Flask. Slide the board to reveal 23, the second part of the password.
Unlocking The Coded Cage
Unlocking the cage is necessary since it’s the only way to the generator room. To reach it, climb to the second floor from the stairs near the bathrooms then head left. Upon encountering a crossroad, turn left and enter the cage room.
- Type in 5223 to open the cage then climb all around the room to the small opening.
- Remove the planks with the crowbar and turn right to the locked door.
- Use the generator key to open it.
- Climb to the top using the wooden platforms and activate the generator, forcing the Janitor and his dogs to go inside the shed.
Obtaining The Principal Door Key
Obtaining the Principal Door key is easy once all previous steps are completed. Simply head to the shed and open it using the shed key. After that, approach the door to the right and grab the Principal Door key from where it hangs on the wall.
From the school’s main door, go left to the end of the hallway and enter a small office. Approach the Principal Door and unlock it to continue exploring the Hello Neighbor 2 Back to School DLC.
