Recently, the developers at Black Matter announced a console release date for Hell Let Loose, a military first-person shooter. Starting as a Kickstarter project, the game has gone on to release on PC. Due to a successful launch on the platform, many gamers are anxious to check out the console versions of Hell Let Loose as well. Fortunately, gamers won’t have long to wait as the developers have announced a beta for the title ahead of its October 5 release date for consoles.

As one of many games set during World War 2, Hell Let Loose looks to differentiate itself through its scope. The game features massive 50 vs. 50 multiplayer online battles on 10 different maps from the war, giving gamers a chance to relive some of the most impactful battles of the global conflict, such as the Normandy Landings and the Battle for Hill 400. Furthermore, players can choose a playstyle that fits them as the game offers 14 different roles to choose from. While the console versions of the game don’t release for a few more weeks, the developers announced that PS5 players would get a chance to check out the game in an upcoming beta.

In addition to revealing the beta times, the developers gave some additional details on what players can expect from the multiplayer preview. The beta includes the 50 vs. 50 battle mode Warfare. With each team starting on opposing sides of the map, the objective of the mode is to push the opposing army back and gain control of territories. Players will be able to try this mode for themselves on the Battle of Hurtgen Forest map.

Beyond this upcoming beta, the developers revealed that Hell Let Loose will have additional functionality on PlayStation due to the PS5 DualSense controller and Pulse 3D headset. The controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback make the game's weapons feel distinct. Adding to this immersion, the developers noted that the experience was further enhanced by the PS5’s 3D audio technology.

Hell Let Loose joins an already packed lineup of war games coming to the PS5 at the end of the year. These titles include Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042. While Call of Duty: Vanguard looks to provide another immersive World War 2 experience, Battlefield 2042 takes warfare into the future with advanced weapons and technology. Both of these games like Hell Let Loose have betas scheduled over the coming weeks.

Hell Let Loose is available now on Steam with the game coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 5, 2021.
