The Super Smash Bros. phenomenon is still spreading Smash fever several games later. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a more extensive fighter roster, the stages are more detailed, and the series has never played better than on the Nintendo Switch.

While many of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's fighters have experience buffing and nerfing, there is still a disparity between characters. There is no correlation between the size and fighting power of a character; however, the larger characters often pack a punch. Be wary of the following fighters. They are among the most massive and authoritative characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

10 Bowser Jr.

Bowser Jr. has been a significant figure in Nintendo ever since his debut appearance in Super Mario Sunshine. This playable fighter is the son of Bowser, one of the other heavyweight characters. With a weight comparable to Samus, Bowser Jr. is a lower-tier character in the game. His moves are slow, but that won't stop many players from liking this fierce character. Bowser Jr.'s run speed is slow, but his air speed and fall speed are fast.

9 King Dedede

Kirby villain

This lesser-known Nintendo character was introduced in the Kirby video game series. King Dedede is characterized as a blue bird with human clothing. He wields a giant wooden mallet, which he uses to defeat foes.

He is the third heaviest character in the game. What heavyweight characters typically lack in speed more than often make up for by packing a punch. King Dedede's not the highest tier character because of his exploits, but don't get too comfortable around him.

8 Wario

Heavyweight character

When many Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters joined the roster, their fighter rating may have changed. To make balanced fights, tweaks were made to each fighter's rating.

Wario is one of the few characters whose fighting power is accurate. Depicted as an overweight Nintendo character, Wario is the opposite of Mario in many ways. To make things a little fairer, Wario can drive a motorcycle in a match, which he uses to drive into enemies.

7 Samus

Samus Aran made his first Super Smash Bros. appearance in the original Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64. This character has stood the test of time, as her ranged attacks infuriate those on the receiving end.

While Zero Suit Samus is one of the game's lightweight characters, Samus Aran with armor is one of the game's heavyweights. Samus works exceptionally well on team-based battles, and 1v1, she isn't bad either.

6 Ganondorf

Debuting in The Legend of Zelda (1986) as Ganon, Ganondorf first became a part of the Smash universe in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate contains the most comprehensive roster list, and it wouldn't be complete without this treacherous Nintendo villain. Ganondorf's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate appearance features a Greatsword frequently seen in The Legend of Zelda series. This design has been reworked to pay homage to early versions of the character.

5 Incineroar

Incineroar

Incineroar comes from the Pokémon universe, debuting in the explosively popular generation of Pokémon Sun and Moon. This dual-type Dark and Fire has the appearance of a fighting Pokémon, which could be why Incineroar fits so well in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. One can unlock Incineroar by playing Classic Mode, the World of Light Adventure, or in versus mode. As a Smash fighter and Pokémon, Incineroar is a heavyweight with the potential to win matches.

4 Charizard (Pokémon Trainer)

Smash Bros. Ultimate

Not falling far from the apple tree, Charizard is another heavyweight Fire-type Pokémon that can scorch its victims. Considering that Charizard is so large, it comes as a surprise that it is one of the fastest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters. Incineroar may have the fighting moves, but Charizard's diverse move set will keep opposing players guessing. He used to be a standalone character, but Charizard is now used as a part of the Pokémon Trainer's lineup.

3 Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong (also known as DK) is a gorilla that comes from Donkey Kong Island. As the titular character of his game series, Donkey Kong is a heavyweight and one of the most powerful fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Donkey Kong is a force to be reckoned with moves like Giant Punch and Hand Slap. He even brings a new Final Smash named Jungle Rush, replacing the less effective Konga Beat move. His noticeable buffs made him a top tier heavyweight Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character.

2 King K. Rool

When players first heard that the elusive villain from the Donkey Kong series joined the roster, they were thrown for a loop. With moves like Blunderbuss, Propellerpack, and Gut Check, King K. Rool has a forceful move set. The amount of power he can unleash makes him one of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's most dominant characters. He might not be the strongest pound for pound, but 1v1, he is an authoritative opponent.

1 Bowser

Bowser, villain of the Super Mario franchise.

While his rival Mario has a tinier appearance and more intricate fighting style, Bowser uses brute force to take down opponents. Contrary to popular belief, Bowser is based on a fictional race of turtles and not a dragon. This fire-breathing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter is faced at Mushroom Kingdom U before unlocking him. Bowser is the heaviest fighter in the game, even though he is agile on his feet. The ground shakes when he strikes the floor. Given his mass, many of Bowser's moves are inescapable.
