Hearthstone just revealed the Creator Program–a new platform to help influencers, streamers, and other creators on the path to success. This new system will help both aspiring and established Hearthstone content creators work more closely with Blizzard.

The new Creator Program for Hearthstone is a way for Blizzard’s long-running collectible card game to connect with its content-creating community. Streamers and influencers who qualify will have lines of direct communication in private creator channels, giveaway codes for their communities, invitations to special events, and even occasional influencer merch from Hearthstone.

Hearthstone is looking for passionate, consistent, and kind members with active communities on Discord, Twitter, or other social media platforms. The special site for the new program outlined guidelines Hearthstone is seeking for its prospective applicants depending on the platform, though it encouraged content creators to apply even if they didn’t meet all the criteria. The list of criteria can be found below.

  • Majority of content must be Hearthstone related (30% for influencers, 60% for Twitch/YouTube, 70% for podcasts).
  • Consistent uploads over the last 6 months.
  • At least 5000 followers or subscribers.
  • At least 200 CCV if live-streaming.
  • An active social media presence on at least one platform.
  • Provide platform insights over the last 3 months.

This new program was announced shortly after Hearthstone unveiled its diminished esports schedule for 2023. With the prize pool for this year about a fifth of last year's total, many fans were remiss to see Hearthstone esports dying. However, this new Creator Program may allow Hearthstone to help foster community growth even as its esports program shrinks.

Many fans have already signed up for the new Hearthstone Creator Program. The new system seems like a great way to elevate mid-range content creators into the spotlight. Blizzard has been working closely with its content creators more often, so Hearthstone players are eager to have a clear pathway to creating a partnership with the game.

That said, some players are not happy with Hearthstone, and think it needs to reevaluate its criteria for new applicants. While the Creator Program seems pretty awesome, 5000 followers and 200 CCV is not an easy milestone to reach. Many believe content creators who already have this much attention hardly need help finding more success and think Hearthstone should provide help for minor creators as well.

Hearthstone will be holding a live stream Q&A session with The Angry Chicken podcast on February 1, so players who have questions about the new program should be sure to tune in. In the meantime, the application for the Hearthstone Creator Program is available now.

Hearthstone is available now for Mobile and PC.
