The Flight Attendant debuted on HBO Max in late November and recently concluded its first season by leaving the door open for further adventures with Cassie Bowden. Now, HBO Max has officially renewed The Flight Attendant for a second season, with Kaley Cuoco set to reprise her role as Bowden.

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by author Chris Bohjalian, the first season of The Flight Attendant introduced viewers to Cuoco's Bowden as a reckless, alcoholic flight attendant who wakes up one morning in the wrong hotel next to a dead man. With no memory of what happened the night before and fearful of informing the police, Bowden sets out to uncover who murdered the rich passenger but soon begins to wonder if she may be one responsible for the man's death. While the central mystery was resolved by the end of the first season, the showrunners provided Bowden an avenue to continue her career as a flight attendant, albeit under slightly different circumstances.

The Flight Attendant renewal was announced by Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer, HBO and HBO Max, with the promise of seeing Cuoco's character return in a new adventure. In a statement, Bloys congratulated the cast and crew of the series on their success and the show's ability to resonate with audiences. "To say that I am elated would be an understatement! The positive response to our show has surpassed all of our expectations and I'm so proud of the entire team behind its success," added Cuoco, who also serves as an executive producer on the show. "I'm thrilled to continue my partnership with Team Berlanti, Steve Yockey, HBO Max and of course my beloved studio, Warner Bros. I have amazing partners in Suzanne McCormack and Mackenzie Shade at Yes, Norman Prods., where we are committed to delivering diverse and quality entertainment, including an exciting (and probably a little crazy) TFA season 2!!"

According to HBO Max, The Flight Attendant saw week over week growth during its first season and ranked as the number one series on the streamer over the course of its run. "We could not be more pleased to embark on another adventure with our incredible partners at Yes, Norman, Kaley and Suzanne, our wonderful creator Steve Yockey, as well as our collaborators at WBTV and HBO Max," said executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter in a statement. "We are thrilled that people have responded so positively to our beloved show, and in particular Kaley Cuoco's incredible, tour de force performance."

The success of The Flight Attendant is undoubtedly welcome news to executives at AT&T, the parent-company of WarnerMedia. In the fall, before the series premiered, the telecommunications company reported a 28% decrease in revenue from a loss of film and TV releases despite HBO Max's growth.

Those who unable to watch The Flight Attendant due to HBO Max being unavailable on certain devices, on the other hand, will be thrilled to hear WarnerMedia has reached a deal to bring the streamer to Roku devices. With this new agreement, HBO Max is currently available on nearly all devices for the first time since it launched earlier this year.

The Flight Attendant season one is now available on HBO Max.
