Appearing in so many Marvel films, fans would think that many of the actors would know how the stories play out or what will be featured in the final cut. According to Hawkeye's Jeremy Renner, that is not the case.

Now the star of his own Disney Plus series, Hawkeye lead Jeremy Renner reflected on his time in the MCU so far while promoting the show. The veteran MCU actor recently discussed his role in the ongoing universe and that he has no idea how the films will look while he's still in the process of filming them.

“Well, it's just different, right? You really wanna see -- like, I know what [2017's Wind River is] gonna look like when it's done," Renner told GQ in a video interview. "I have no idea what the film is gonna look like in the Marvel Universe. I have zero clue." Renner would go on to clarify that he remembers many of the scenes he would shoot, but isn't totally clear on what those scenes will look like on the big screen. "... Like, when you didn't know what the backdrop is, or like what the Hulk really looks like, it's just, it's completely different," Renner further continued. "... But the process of shooting it, some things inform you. Like, you just focus on what you do know and don't worry about the things you don't know. Or learn about the things you don't know. You know, you just gotta do what you gotta do." His comments come shortly after he claimed that he hasn't watched Avengers: Endgame since the big premiere back in 2019, sharing that the film being a culmination of so many stories and character arcs was too much emotionally for him to handle.

Whether Renner watches his films or has any idea as to what he is shooting or not, that doesn't take away from the great performances he has delivered as Hawkeye. Having first appeared in 2011's Thor and then being featured as more of side role in many of the Marvel projects, it has been long overdue for Renner's Clint Barton to get his time to shine in his solo Disney Plus' outing Hawkeye.

The series, which is part of Marvel Studios' new format involving original shows that still tie into the MCU films and their overarching stories, has been another great success because its more grounded, street-level setting combined with the chemistry between Renner and Hailee Steinfeld feels like a breath of fresh air, especially after dealing a lot with the buildup of the multiverse and other cosmic beings in Loki and Eternals. The series, which just released its fifth episode, will conclude on December 22nd with its sixth and final episode.

But with speculation growing that certain characters like Charlie Cox's Daredevil or Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin could be joining the MCU (after appearing in other unrelated Marvel television shows), Hawkeye could play a pivotal role in future MCU films like Spider-Man: No Way Home, making the series' impact much greater than the six episodes it has been given.

Hawkeye is now available to stream on Disney Plus, with new episodes airing every Wednesday.
