A little levity is always a lovely little palate cleanser after having to deal with several episodes of super serious business. Granted, just like the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hawkeye kind of kept things light and funny most of the way through its short 6-episode season. But that doesn't mean the folks behind it can't go all-in with the goofy stuff as a nice filling dessert.

In the wake of that exciting season finale of Hawkeye, it seems the people in charge decided that audiences deserved to see some of the less than dramatic moments beyond the boundaries of the editing room. Remember the old days when a not insignificant number of movies included a hilarious blooper reel in their end credits? Even Pixar got in on the fun. Well, that practice is back in action, and all without the pesky detail of having to wait for the credits to see it.

This time, however, the creative minds behind Hawkeye decided to have a little fun with the format. Utilizing Sammy Davis Jr.'s "Sweet Gingerbread Man," the whole thing plays out like an early 70s TV show intro, complete with cozy name cards for every actor involved from Jeremy Renner to the entire tracksuit mafia and all the way to [REDACTED]. The unfortunate side effect of this is that the only audio is the song, so audiences can't enjoy the sweet, indulgent sounds of stars such as Florence Pugh and Fra Fee cracking up like hyenas.

It's a fun little glimpse into the heartwarming connections made on the set of shows like Hawkeye. Hailee Steinfeld alone shares plenty of laughs with a number of costars throughout the video, and even Alaqua Cox, a new addition to the MCU and star of the upcoming Echo spinoff, is all smiles during her segment. The shot of Pugh enjoying a nice guffaw as Steinfeld runs into the elevator is a particular highlight.

Perhaps the cheekiest moment in the video is the shot of a certain familiar white-jacketed crime boss from the back with the actor's name scratched out from his intro card. Even after Vincent D'Onofrio finally made his return as Kingpin at the end of the series, it seems Disney still finds some humor in the rather poorly-kept secret they'd been harboring all this time. It's nice to be able to laugh at one's self, especially when one is a multibillion-dollar entertainment corporation that could buy and sell every human being alive.

Now that Hawkeye is complete, this gag reel makes a nice little stinger for a quick binge of the series. It's still unclear whether the series will continue, but based on the final line of the last episode, it seems like if it does, Steinfeld's Kate Bishop could possibly be the sole star going forward. But that's a discussion for another time. Happy holidays, and don't feed dogs pizza no matter what a superhero show says.
