The following article contains spoilers for Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home. This week’s Hawkeye episode wrapped up the series with tons of action and adventure, while opening some new doors for Marvel’s heroes. In typical MCU fashion, one story closed, but a world of possibility has been opened for another, especially since it's unclear whether or not the big bad pulling strings throughout the entire series is dead.

In terms of an origin story, Kate Bishop’s character has been well-established for future projects. Although it seems like Clint’s journey has come to a pretty satisfying close, it's possible the archers will team up again when it comes time for the next big battle. It’s been confirmed that Tracksuit Mafia member Maya Lopez, AKA Echo, will be getting her own Disney Plus series, most likely detailing the events of her life now that she may or may not have killed the infamous Kingpin and abandoned her role as a member of the Mob. Pieces of Laura Barton’s story are still missing, as well, and Yelena has plenty of healing to do now that she's learned the truth about Natashs’s death. While all this was happening, episode 6 includes a few easter eggs that have some pretty big implications for the future.

The Mysterious Rolex

Serving as a subtle side plot since episode 1, Clint’s desire to track down this mysterious Rolex watch lost from the Avengers compound has left fans asking questions for weeks. In the finale, the show confirms that the watch actually belongs to Laura Barton and has the infamous S.H.I.E.L.D logo on the back. Below the logo is the number 19, finally proving fans’ suspicions that Laura Barton was once known as Agent 19, AKA Mockingbird, during her time with S.H.I.E.L.D.

It’s still a little unclear as to why this Rolex was so important to the Barton crew, besides confirming Laura’s past as Mockingbird for viewers and offering some nostalgic value, but fans will most likely be given answers if Laura and Clint pop up in any future projects.

Pym Particles and Stark Tech

While gearing up for the final showdown of the series, Clint reveals that he knows how to make trick arrows on his own, thanks to technology given to him by some familiar MCU faces. During construction, fans could catch a glimpse of both Pym particles and some additional Stark technology that was most likely gifted to Clint by Tony, before his death.

The “Mini” Van

Thanks to the Pym particles, Kate was able to shrink the Trust A Bro moving van and everyone inside, which came as a shock to both her and Clint. Afterward, Clint mentioned that he would have to ask Scott what to do about the “mini” van, confirming that he and the Ant-Man team are still in contact.

Kate’s New Alias

In the series closing, after burning the Ronin suit, Kate proposes that her new superhero name be Ladyhawk, in reference to Marvel comics. In the comics, Ladyhawk is an alias used by two different people, twin sisters Rosetta and Regina Morgan. Although Kate seems to be the sole inhabitant of the name in the MCU, she proved in the finale that she has everything it takes to be a great hero.

The Curious Case of the Tree Owl

Near the end of the episode, Clint finds himself in a predicament, clinging to the branches of a Christmas tree while staring eye to eye with an adorable little owl. The scene was a little bit random and the MCU made a point to give the owl a decent bit of screen time, which was an odd choice, since it never made an appearance in the comics the way Lucky did.

There is a character closely affiliated with Daredevil who goes by the name of the Owl, so perhaps this scene was meant to hint at the character’s reappearance in the MCU. The Owl was in the Netflix Daredevil series, along with Kingpin and Daredevil himself, Matt Murdock, and both of these characters have been officially integrated into the MCU thanks to Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Owl was killed in the Daredevil Netflix series, but given the possibilities granted to the MCU by the creation of the multiverse, it’s entirely possible that the Owl will return.

More Endgame References

Clint’s story in Hawkeye is heavily tied to his actions during the events of Avengers: Endgame and the final episode of the Disney Plus series made a reference to where it all began. Clint’s time as Ronin began when he was doing some target practice with his daughter, before his entire family disappeared in the Blip. In the final scene of the series, the target he and his daughter were using during Endgame was visible, illustrating that this part of Clint’s story has finally come full-circle, to a satisfying close.
