Square Enix's newest in-depth look at upcoming farming simulation RPG Harvestella shows off everything players can expect from the game's Summer season. Since its reveal during this June's Nintendo Direct, Square Enix has given fans plenty of reasons to be excited about the brand-new IP. The game features a mix of farming simulation with RPG adventure gameplay featuring real-time combat and magic. The Nintendo Direct earlier this month also saw a demo available for players to try out the game. Now, Square-Enix is showing off Harvestella's more tropical side.

The newest Harvestella blog post from Square Enix introduces players to the village of Shatolla, a quaint seaside town that largely revolves around fishing. The post gives players a preview of several characters they will meet in Shatolla, including the town's diva singer Emo and the eccentric inventor Heine. While in Shatolla, players will be tasked with investigating a mysterious phenomenon creating giant bubbles around the sea called "Summer Bulla" as well as rumors of the sea witch, Lorelei.

The post introduces several new crops including the Shatollan Paprika and Seatide Garlic, as well as new cooking dishes like the Fisherman's Sandwich and Hop Juice. New farming biomes are also introduced in the post with the Waterside and Cave biomes shown off, lending themselves to sweet crops and spices respectively. Players will also be able to build pens on their homestead allowing them to keep livestock on their farm.

Along with the plethora of new farming mechanics, Square Enix's deep dive into Harvestella introduces two new jobs players will be able to unlock, likely tied to the main characters in Shatolla. The Mechanic job excels at physical attacks against enemies with various abilities that weaken opponents. The musical Woglinde job acts as a more support-oriented class with a focus on using magic to buff your team. Both jobs will also have access to charged attacks, as well as bonus skills players can obtain by spending job points.

Harvestella's early November launch date will place the game at the start of a jam-packed November with several high-profile releases. November will feature multiple major Switch games between the port of the widely-acclaimed It Takes Two alongside one of Nintendo's biggest franchises in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Several major multi-platform games are also slated to launch during November with games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Sonic Frontiers arriving throughout the month. Harvestella will look to capture both farming simulation fans and Square-Enix fans when it launches in November.

Harvestella will release on November 4, 2022 for PC and Switch.
