Harvestella is a farming sim in which players have to farm and collect recipes. Cooking is a key part of the game as travelers have to cook meals to refuel their health and stamina. Neglecting stamina can lead players to lose half their day time, as well as Grilla, which can be hard to obtain at the beginning of the game.

As Cres introduces farming earlier in the game, harvesting becomes travelers’ best companion along their journey, as it can provide them with Grilla at the start of Harvestella if it was put in the Shipping Box.

How To Unlock Cooking In Harvestella

To unlock cooking in Harvestella, players need to hire the Renovator from Lethe Village to refurbish the Kitchen Counter. This costs 2000 Grilla and takes one in-game day. The Renovator is located in the southwest part of the village and his shop is marked by a hammer icon, which can be easily spotted when opening the map.

To collect the required coins, travelers can harvest their daily farmed crops and ship them off for sale by stashing them away in the Shipping Box, which is a big blue box located in front of players’ house in Bird’s Eye Brae. However, the field is full of rocks, restricting the farming experience in Harvestella.

Travelers can take advantage of their time while waiting for the crops to grow and make a Hammer which requires ten Hard Stones that can be collected from numerous locations like Njord Steppe, and Bird’s Eye Grae Small Field.

Alternatively, setting off on an adventure to explore and gather various materials like Wild Leafs, Little Mushrooms, Lumbers, Hard Stones, and Cool Berries can increase travelers’ Grilla revenue from the Shipping Box.

How To Obtain Recipes

Upon renovating the Kitchen Counter, players will acquire a recipe, Mountain Stir Fry, given by the Renovator who explains the cooking mechanic for travelers. Other recipes can be obtained while completing missions, challenges, or by purchasing them from the General Store in Lethe Village. General Store offers the following:

  • Homely Lethe Recipes (300 Grilla)
  • Selected Recipes (500 Grilla)
  • Lethe Dessert Recipes (700 Grilla)

Each Recipe has its own unique ingredients, like Mountain Stir Fry. According to the game, it's a dish made in 20 minutes of one fresh Wild Leaf, and one fresh Little Mushroom. The meal can restore 900 HP and 50% stamina, and if travelers need the extra coins, it can be sold for 40 Grilla.

Players should pay attention if their inventory includes the required vegetables or fruits to cook the purchased recipe to satisfy their hunger, heal their wounds, and boost their stamina as some may be costly for starter players. But don’t fret as players can easily plant any required ingredient by purchasing seed bags from the General Store.

Harvestella is now available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
