Though Eternals did not perform too well critically or at the box office, fans will be seeing those characters again. Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore stated that fans can expect to see Harry Styles as Starfox in future MCU projects.

Eternals was one of the more experimental films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unfortunately, it did not pay off for many. Still, many fans have wondered whether there would be an Eternals 2. The film set up an entirely new corner for the MCU to play in and established some brand new faces who could have an important role moving forward. Among those new faces was Starfox, also known as Eros, who is Thanos' (Josh Brolin) brother.

In an interview with Deadline's Crew Call Podcast, Moore stated that director Chloe Zhao insisted Styles be brought on as Starfox and that the move was not stunt casting. Moore also said the character has a place in the grand scheme of the Marvel Universe, with plenty of interesting stories to tell. "But there are more stories to be told with that character," Moore said. "He’s fascinating. He has a really interesting connection with Thanos; they’re half-brothers and share the same father. He has an interesting power set. He’s a complicated character, but a really fun character. And I think… having met Harry Styles, he is as charming as you want him to be. And I think there’s no limit to how good that character’s going to be once we get to bring him back.”

Moore had previously teased that the Eternals would return to the MCU, though he did not elaborate on what capacity that would be. There have been several indications that Marvel Studios is not yet done with the characters, despite the performance of Eternals. In fact, the film's ending claims that the Eternals will return for later adventures.

Patton Oswalt, who played Pip the Troll in a cameo, even went so far as to claim that Eternals 2 was definitely happening. On the other hand, Kingo actor Kumail Nanjiani explained that he thought Oswalt was mistaken about Eternals 2. A sequel does seem unlikely, to be fair, but the Eternals themselves could still pop up in other adventures.

It's unknown what Styles thinks of a return to the MCU. He had two films released in 2022, My Policeman and Olivia Wilde's Don't Worry Darling, and he did not receive high praise for his portrayals in those films. He appears to be focused on his music career lately, but Moore's comments imply that he's game for a return.

Eternals is now available on Disney Plus.
