As the October 2021 Harry Potter Wizards Unite calendar of event plays out, players are in for some exciting changes this month. Unlike the usual 24 hour weekend Community Day that witches and wizards have grown used to, this month the popular recurring event is actually taking place over 48 hours right in the middle of the week.
There isn’t an official explanation for the changes to the Community Day timing, but right now it seems like it is likely a one-time exception and not necessarily a new normal for the mobile AR game. Players won’t know that for sure until the November Harry Potter: Wizards Unite calendar of events rolls out in a few weeks though.
For now, it might be wise to start preparing for next week’s big event. The October 2021 Community Day activities in Harry Potter Wizards Unite will be Wizard Chess themed again. There are going to be a lot of exciting Foundables up for grabs once again and players can expect some interesting rewards as well if they manage to complete the day's tasks.
The event task rewards will include Potions, Spell Books, Ingredients, and DADA Books. That should provide plenty of motivation to login and power through the short list of challenges while the Community Day event is active.
The October Community Day in the mobile AR game begins on Wednesday, October 13 and runs for 48 hours until 11:59pm local time on Thursday, October 14. As usual, players will have the full event window to enjoy the event's bonuses and complete the limited time activities to earn some powerful rewards along the way.
The event will feature a list of exclusive tasks and rewards that offer a nice collection of completion rewards for players who manage to work through the full list. The tasks aren't particularly challenging this time around and players who are willing to log in as the event kicks off and spend a few hours in the game completing fairly normal activities during the course of the event window shouldn't have any major problems reaching the end and unlocking those DADA books and the other rewards.

Special 1km Portkeys that award Legends of Hogwarts Family XP and the Wizard Chess Queen.

Guaranteed Flying Key Fragment after winning a Wizarding Challenge in Forest IV and higher when using a Legends of Hogwarts Runestone.
Increased Wizarding XP, Challenge XP, and Spell Energy rewards while doing Wizarding Challenges.
Reduced brewing time for Tonic for Trace Detection. It will take only 1 hour to brew. Master Notes will reduce it by another 50%.

Community Day events usually end up being some of the most popular in-game festivities each month, thanks to the powerful bonuses and casual gamer friendly features, so there's no reason to suspect this one would be any different.
