Although slated for launch tomorrow, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite pulled a fast one and launched today instead. The new mobile AR game from Niantic attempts to see if the Harry Potter franchise can strike the same kind of nostalgic craze that Pokemon GO did a few years ago (and continues to do for many gamers).

Now that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is out, there's a lot to learn about the game. Details from the closed testing stayed pretty quiet, so most players are learning the basics of the game right now. That said, there are some things we definitely can expect, like the option to spend some real world money to gain access to certain resources.

The in-game shopping seems fairly similar to Pokemon GO, which doesn't come as a big surprise. Players never really need to spend real world money on the Gold currency, but it will definitely speed things up and offer some quality of life improvements if they do.

Here is an exact breakdown for the conversion from real world U.S. dollars and cents to in-game Gold, thanks to some quick math by fans on Reddit...

These prices don't see too surprising or outrageous, but it will become a little more clear how much value there is to gain after we learn more about all of the items and how often it makes sense to purchase them. That should all become clear very soon as the community starts mastering the mobile AR title.

Be sure to check back in the coming hours and days as we speed through Wizard's Unite and provide strategy guides for everything you need to know to master the game. Until then, good luck out there witches and wizards.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
