As the world continues to fight the coronavirus with social distancing and lots of hand washing, video games that usually require time outside and group gatherings are changing their strategy to keep players engaged. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has already cancelled some March events that would've involved large group gatherings, but the game is trying to do what it can to stay relevant during this cautious period of time.

Trainers who play Pokemon GO noticed a lot of changes that made the game more playable without leaving the house and now it seems like Niantic is also rolling out similar changes for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. A serious of updates to spawns and item effects make the it much easier to progress through the game without heading out in the world and risking contact with germs.

The changes are pretty significant and should make it much easier for players to stay engaged and busy if they are in states or countries experiencing lockdowns. These sort of gaming activities combined with new movies heading to streaming earlier will hopefully help alleviate some of the stress associated with the current global situation.
