Christmas came early this year and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is now available on Android and iOS devices. That means there's a brand new mobile AR game to start exploring and players are already leveling up and answering questions we've all been wondering since the game was announced.

As players start to master the basics, like understanding the in-game Gold currency, there are some similar questions that continue popping up. One very popular question around player groups today seems to be a concern about player portraits and privacy settings.

Witches and wizards have the opportunity to make an in-game character portrait by taking a picture of themselves through the app. This is a cool little feature, but obviously not everyone wants random other players, or even their friends, to see these photos. Not to worry, it seems like those portraits can only be viewed by the creator for now.

Here is everything Friends can currently view about each other:

Code Name

Wizarding Titles

Hogwarts House Affliation

Most Current Profession

Wizarding Achievements

Lifetime Stats

Although this seems like the right move from a privacy standpoint, some players are disappointed and wish that there was an option to make the portraits public or at least visible to friends. If the game is anything like Pokemon GO, then it seems likely that Niantic will listen to this kind of feedback carefully and consider adding similar features in the future after the game is stable and growing.

Be sure to check back frequently in the coming hours and days as we tear through Wizards Unite and write up strategy guides for everything you need to know. Until then, keep your wands at the ready, witches and wizards.
