Godzilla vs. Kong and Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is no stranger to being featured in hyper-realistic DeepFake videos. Previously, the Emmy-nominated actress was imagined as a young Princess Leia, and now she's been digitally cast in Harry Potter as Hermione Granger.

Earlier this year, it was reported that a live-action Harry Potter series was in early development at HBO Max. While no talent is attached to the project, executives at HBO Max and WarnerMedia have had numerous meetings with potential writers. J.K Rowling’s seven-book fantasy series was adapted for the big screen across eight successful movies. WarnerMedia has made it no secret that they want to take advantage of owning the beloved franchise’s IP.

While Millie Bobby Brown hasn’t been cast in the Harry Potter spin-off, YouTuber “Jarkan” created a convincing Deepfake video that imagines Brown replacing Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. This clip entitled, “Harry Potter Starring Millie Bobby Brown As Hermione Granger, has amassed over 35 thousand views on YouTube. It features Brown’s Granger alongside Daniel Radcliffe’s Harry Potter and Rupert Grint’s Ron Weasley in various iconic scenes from the movie franchise.

Brown, who is most notably known for playing Eleven/Jane Ives in Stranger Things, has starred in a string of high-budget films over the past couple of years. The 17-year-old actress was recently seen as Sherlock Homes’ youngest sister in Harry Bradbeer’s Enola Holmes. The mystery film was released on Netflix last September and followed an intelligent teenager who strives to find her missing mother on her sixteenth birthday. The cast included Justice League’s Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Sam Claflin as Mycroft Holmes, and Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes.

This summer, Brown is set to star in the highly anticipated Godzilla vs. Kong. The upcoming MonsterVerse film is the sequel to 2017’s Kong: Skull Island and 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Adam Wingard’s upcoming sci-fi action-adventure will be the second time the two beasts have been pit against each other on the big screen. Their first encounter occurred in the 1962 film King Kong vs. Godzilla, which, of course, featured a climactic battle between the two.

Brown is reprising her role as Madison Russell from King of the Monsters. She has stated that the film is a coming-of-age story for her character and that Madison is trying to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Brown teased that Madison is “basically a badass” who has become more independent and understanding.

The Harry Potter films are now available on Peacock
