Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery received one of its most exciting updates last week when developer Jam City finally added Year 5 to the game. However, some players have already played through the new Year 5 content and may be wondering where Year 5 Chapter 2 is. While it seems likely that Year 5 Chapter 2 will be added to the game this coming Thursday, September 13, it's also possible it won't be added until next week.

Developer Jam City has developed a pattern of releasing new story content for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery on Thursdays, but sometimes it will skip a week if it adds two chapters the previous week. Even though the final chapter of Year 4 was just the usual year-end ceremony where players are awarded the House Cup and such, Jam City still technically added two story chapters this past Thursday (the final chapter of Year 4 and the first chapter of Year 5). Considering this, there is a distinct possibility that Year 5 Chapter 2 won't be added this week.

However, when one takes into account the short length of Year 4's final chapter, it's also possible that Jam City will add Year 5 Chapter 2 after all. Of course, this is all just speculation at this time, and Hogwarts Mystery fans won't have definitive answers until Thursday, unfortunately.

As it stands, it seems as though Year 5 may be one of the shortest years in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. At the time of this writing, the game only lists a handful of spells that players will learn this year, and only seven chapters are listed. However, it's worth pointing out that Year 4 started similarly, only for it to become the longest year in the game to date. So while the current evidence points to Year 5 being the shortest year in Hogwarts Mystery, it could very well become the longest by the time it's all said and done.

As for what players have to look forward to in Year 5, there's plenty of potentially interesting main story developments in addition to new Prefect side quests and other in-game events. Hogwarts Mystery fans will just have to stay tuned to see what else Year 5 has in store.
