For the past few weeks, developer Jam City has released new chapters for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery on Thursdays, usually one chapter at a time. However, this week the studio added two chapters to the game, allowing players to progress through Year 4 Chapters 7 and 8.

As can be expected, these new story chapters allow players to dig deeper into the mystery surrounding the location of Year 4's Cursed Vault. The new chapters also give players the chance to complete some new classes, which in turn will reward them with things like gems that can be used to adopt pets or purchase new cosmetic items.

Unfortunately for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players who are anxious for the Year 4 story to wrap up, it seems as though Jam City is continuing this pace for the foreseeable future. On the bright side, players should have more things to do in the game to keep them occupied between story chapters than they ever did in its early days.

Since launch, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has added a variety of new game features and activities for players to partake in that should help pass the time while they wait for more story content. For example, players can complete friend encounters outside of scripted story events that can help them unlock special rewards, such as the ability to take different friends on quests. These friend encounters also reward players with bonus energy and free gems, and when friends are maxed out, players will earn exclusive cosmetic items.

Jam City has also been running special in-game events for Hogwarts Mystery players, with the most recent one slowly trickling out to the masses. As of the update that added Year 4 Chapters 7 and 8, some players have reported that they can access the Duelling Club event that lets them duel with other students in exchange for rewards. It's unclear when this event will be available to everyone, but it's something that players can look forward to nevertheless.

In the meantime, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery fans can likely look forward to more story chapters next Thursday, assuming Jam City sticks to its current pattern.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
