It came a bit later in the day than usual, but new story content is now available in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Fans of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery can now progress up to Year 4 Chapter 12, where they will have some new story quests to complete, along with a couple of new lessons.

The story content deals mainly with Professor Snape and Madam Rakepick, who some have theorized is the mysterious "R." Whether or not that's true remains to be seen, but fans will learn more about Rakepick in Chapter 12. In the meantime, the new classes come in the form of a Charms class and a Transfigurations class, and players stand to benefit from completing both of them.

In the Charms class, players will have the chance to learn Diffindo, which is a spell that is usable in duels. In Transfigurations class, players can learn the spell Serpensortia, which has no application in duels, but will reward players with five gems after they learn it.

Beyond main story content, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players also have a new side quest they can partake in. This new side quest will reward players with attribute points, gems, and XP, and it's called The Trouble with Tonks. As its name implies, this side quest deals with Nymphadora Tonks, who is one of the player character's closest friends at Hogwarts.

Something we noticed with the addition of this side quest is a task counter to the left of it. With previous side quests, players simply had to guess how long the quest would be, but now players should know exactly how long they will have to dedicate to any given side quest in the game.

Unfortunately, the new update doesn't add the romance options that many expected to be added with Year 4. Regardless, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery fans will likely appreciate the new story content to play through, and hopefully it keeps them satisfied until next Thursday when a new chapter will probably drop.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
