For the past couple of weeks, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players have been stuck at the beginning of Year 3, unable to progress beyond the first chapter. However, Jam City has quietly added more content to the mobile game, allowing players to continue their Hogwarts adventure.

At the time of this writing, it's unclear just how much of Year 3 was added to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. It's possible players can now see Year 3 through to its completion, though there's also a chance that they will hit another roadblock before reaching Year 4. We can confirm that players can get to at least Chapter 4, however.

Along with the additional story content, players are also able to tap the mischievous poltergeist Peeves for some more free energy. Peeves can typically be found in the East Towers, but like other free energy locations, players will have to wait an undetermined amount of time for him to return.

Since there are no patch notes readily available, we can't say for certain what else this update has done for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. For example, we can't tell if Jam City has addressed any of the complaints about how the energy system works in the game, and we also can't go back and see if any of the glaring plot holes have been fixed either.

If the plot holes, glitches, and other issues with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery haven't been fixed yet, one has to imagine that fixes are coming in the future. Even though the game has been heavily criticized for the way it uses microtransactions, it's still proving to be quite popular, especially for hardcore fans of the Harry Potter franchise. Portkey Games will want to keep these fans at least somewhat happy if they expect them to play another Harry Potter mobile game, like the AR project in development at Niantic, so fixes for major issues should be on the way.

In the meantime, fans should be sure to explore Hogwarts to see if they can find any other new content that has been added in Year 3.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
