Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery fans have embraced the game's latest updates with open arms. The update that allowed players to take part in daily friend encounters, moments where they get to take part in activities with their Potter universe pals, was particularly well-received. But this update isn't the only thing that developer Jam City has been working on recently, with the company teasing additional, exciting features coming soon.

The latest Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery update includes a fix for the Facebook log-in issue, a story update that adds Tonks, Butterbeer, and Mandrakes, as well as the aforementioned friendship activities. But developer Jam City also detailed some features that will be "coming soon" to the game. The developer explains that "For a limited time," players will be able to "collect stars in classes to earn special rewards!" The coming soon tease also explains that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players will be able to "show your house pride!"

Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery 1.6.1 patch notes

Unfortunately, the mention doesn't elaborate on exactly what these special rewards may include, but players have already been speculating about the contents. Fans seem especially keen on the idea of loot related to their chosen Hogwarts house, including outfits based on the Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin house colors, and insignias. Jam City has already fostered fans' house pride in a small way, with the game rewarding players who win the House Cup, but this would give players even more of an incentive to support their Hogwarts house.

Potentially, this new content could give players a new way to spend their gold, too. Players recently complained about the game's gold limit, also saying that Jam City has yet to offer enough quality, in-game unlocks that can be purchased with gold as opposed to premium content that can be purchased with gems. But house-specific content would help to address these criticisms.

The tease in the patch notes also fails to include an estimated release date for these rewards. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players will have their fingers crossed that Jam City will push the content to live sooner rather than later, but for now, it's unclear.

In the meantime, fans will have plenty of other content to keep them entertained. Jam City recently added a lot more Year 3 content, including new characters to befriend, while Year 4 content and multiplayer features are on the cards too. This content may not offer any "special" rewards but at least players will have plenty of ways to have fun while they wait for that to arrive.
