Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery was one of the most popular mobile games for some time, and while it's not nearly as popular as it once was, some lapsed players may be finding themselves returning to Hogwarts in light of recent global events. As millions of people around the world practice social distancing due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery developer Jam City has announced an "Energy Happy Hour" event in the game.

The Hogwarts Mystery Energy Happy Hour event is light on specific details except what time it will start. Those interested should be sure to play Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery from 11am to 2pm PT today to see what exactly the Energy Happy Hour event will entail. It's possible it just means that Hogwarts Mystery energy will regenerate at a faster rate, or maybe it will let players play with infinite energy for a limited time. Or maybe players will just get some extra energy for tuning in. Without any additional details shared on the Hogwarts Mystery social media pages, it's hard to say at this point.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is currently in Year 6, meaning its story is finally nearing its conclusion. However, considering how long Year 5 was in Hogwarts Mystery, it's unlikely that players will actually see the end of the game any time soon. Even so, this Energy Happy Hour could be what gets some lapsed players to return to the game, and when they realize the story's ending is somewhat in sight, they may even decide to see it out.

Lapsed players returning to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery to participate in the Energy Happy Hour event will find some new features that have been added to the game. Hogwarts Mystery added Quidditch, and the most recent Valentine's Day event also added romance options.

Unfortunately, the same criticisms that drove players away are still a major part of the experience. As pointed out in our Hogwarts Mystery review, the game is notoriously stingy when it comes to energy, so depending on how the Energy Happy Hour works, players may still wind up being unable to progress in the game without breaking out their wallet. Then again, the game does offer big energy rewards for players who have been gone for a long time, so maybe that won't be an issue. Fans will just have to check out the Hogwarts Mystery Energy Happy Hour event at 11am PT to learn more.
