From wisecracks to wizarding spells, there is no doubt that the Weasley twins were the main source of comedic relief throughout the original Harry Potter series. Their quick humor and antics including practical jokes, pranks and funny joke shop products continued to give much-needed light comedy relief to the series.Related: Hogwarts Legacy: Tips For Role-Playing As Harry PotterDespite being incredibly mischievous, Fred and George often used their jokes and intelligence for good. They continually demonstrated their loyalty towards Harry and helped him out of plenty of sticky situations, including escaping from The Dursley's house. The quotes featured in this list capture some of the best moments of the twins across the eight films.

10 "Saint-Like... I'm Holey, Fred... Get It?" - Deathly Hallows Part 1

When George lost an ear, of course he had to joke about it. Although this moment is more somber in the film, Fred and George still get plenty of humor out of the situation despite much bloodshed. A witty pun highlights how close the twins are and that they always cracked jokes even in the bleakest of moments.

Unfortunately, this moment also acts as a red herring for later on in the Deathly Hallows, as although George is the one who nearly gets killed, Fred is actually the one to die in the final battle at Hogwarts.

9 "You Said!" "YOU SAID!" - The Goblet Of Fire

In the fourth book and film of the series, the Weasley twins are given some of the best lines, as their humor is even more exaggerated during the excitement of The Triwizard Tournament. Their aging potion hilariously backfires and Dumbledore's spell instantly turns them into elderly men with long hair.

This is the only time in the film series that we see the twins behaving angrily towards each other, as they get into a physical fight. This and other moments throughout the film provide some very welcome light and comedic relief to viewers, as this film marks the start of the dark turn that the series takes.

8 "Brutal, But No One’s Died In Years. Someone Will Vanish Occasionally, But They'll Turn up In A Month Or Two!" - The Philosopher's Stone

The Quidditch Team in Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone

Fred and George in the first film have plenty of quick-witted banter and were known for often saying the same things and having alternate lines. Here, they rally together to tease Harry about his new and scary responsibility as a Quidditch Seeker for the Gryffindor team.

This moment is a great delivery of lines that show the closeness between the twins. Whilst this may seem a bit mean-spirited towards Harry, it is just one of the ways that they treat him as if he was one of their brothers.

Joking around in their own joke shop is just one of the many reasons that fans continue to love Fred and George from the original series. This scene gives an incredible visualization of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, bringing their fun and eccentric ideas to life in a vibrant and chaotic way.

Whilst they would allow Harry to take anything that he wanted for free, due to him being their investor, they would not afford the same courtesy to their brother, Ron. This quote highlights how they refuse to treat him differently and continue to tease him even as adults.

6 "Try Saying That Five Times Faster... Babbling Bumbling Band Of Baboons!" - The Goblet of Fire

During one of the most awkward comedic moments of The Goblet of Fire, the twins run amok to again tease younger brother Ron. The first part of this scene is where they crack jokes about Professor McGonagall calling her Gryffindor students a "Babbling Bumbling Band of Baboons," prompting them to whisper the phrase multiple times to each other.

McGonagall then shows Ron how to dance at the Yule Ball, causing Harry and his brothers to laugh at him in a teasing way. The audience also laughs with them. Harry says to the twins: "you're never going to let me forget this are you?" To which they reply: "never".

5 Fred: "You Know, George... I've Always Felt Our Futures Lay Outside The World Of Academic Achievement."George: "Fred, I've Been Thinking Exactly The Same Thing." - The Order Of The Phoenix

In such a contrast from the previous film, The Order of The Phoenix sees the twins disgruntled with the ongoings at Hogwarts during their final school year. This is due to Dolores Umbridge enacting unnecessary and cruel restrictions upon their fellow students, ultimately prompting them to drop out of school. This quote shows that they are so like-minded, they simultaneously conjure the same idea.

Frustrated by the injustice facing Hogwarts because of Umbridge, Fred and George do not go quietly and instead go out with a large bang to draw the attention of the entire school. This is one of the best scenes in the entire film that is filled with fun and fireworks and shows the twins at their best.

4 "I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good" - The Prisoner Of Azkaban

In Harry's third year at Hogwarts, the Weasley twins do him a massive favor when he cannot get permission to go to Hogsmede. They gift him The Marauder's Map, which ends up being the most useful tool for Harry to uncover plenty of school secrets. Little do they all know, this was an invention of Harry's father and his friends to discover everybody lurking in the school grounds.

They gift the map to Harry and never get thanked later for it, with the map becoming a very much unspoken thing between the three of them. This is a brilliant moment in the films as Harry realizes the significance of what the twins have given him.

3 "Yeaaaaaah, Well Done Dragon!" - The Goblet Of Fire

Continuing the jokes and madness with their lines in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, Fred and George cause another laugh-out-loud moment during the film when they cheer on the dragon for flying through the teacher's stand at The Triwizard Tournament. They are delighted when the stand is destroyed and causes debris to fall on both teachers and journalists.

It is evident that the Weasley twins enjoyed all the challenges, from cheering on dragons to taking bets from students for which champions will win or lose each task, providing much valuable comedy.

2 George: "He's Not Fred, I Am!"Fred: "Honestly Woman, You Call Yourself Our Mother." - The Philosopher's Stone

Fred and George Weasley at King's Cross Station

This first appearance shows how similar both the twins look, to the point where their own mother cannot tell them apart from each other. The scene is the first time Harry sees the Weasley Family and viewers are immediately shown how the Weasley twins like to wreak havoc and mess with everybody in their lives.

A fun fact about this scene is that this remained James Phelps' (Fred) favorite moment across all the Harry Potter films that they both featured in, as he would never be allowed to say it to his own mother. This first moment just demonstrates how much fun they had portraying Fred and George.

1 "Wow, We're Identical" - Deathly Hallows Part 1

Prior to George's cracking joke about losing an ear, there is this iconic quote that both twins say simultaneously when they look like Harry Potter himself. This is towards the start of the film where several of Harry's friends drink Polyjuice Potion to become decoys for Voldemort and his Death Eaters to be distracted from the real Harry.

Not only is this scene deeply funny because the twins have always been identical, they are able to deftly defuse the tension of the scene with their wit and make fun of Harry in the process.
