Today is the day: Hamilton is finally available on Disney+, but those who want to watch it and don't already subscribe to the platform should be aware that there is no free trial.

Hamilton tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also wrote the show's music, lyrics, and story after years of research. The hip-hop musical has won dozens of awards, and every one of the show's angles has won an award, including music, performance, choreography, lighting, sound design, costume, set, featured actors, and the overall production itself.

And now the groundbreaking musical masterpiece has been aptly added to Disney+ on 4th of July weekend. For fans looking to experience Hamilton, they should know that Disney's streaming platform does not offer a free trial, unlike its competitors. But a subscription to Disney+ starts at the price of $6.99/month or $69.99/year, which is very reasonable considering the amount of content watchers will get.

The revolutionary Hamilton is the owner of the coveted 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It turned the tide in the Broadway and musical industries for a multitude of reasons. For one, it is noted for being the only musical in history to seek out solely non-white performers in order to give them opportunities that they wouldn't normally come across. Hamilton has also won numerous awards for its score, lyrics, and music that draws heavily from R&B, hip-hop, soul, pop for the intention of highlighting music introduced to America by non-white folks.

The Covid-19 pandemic has many stuck at home for safety precautions, which has caused several movie productions to be delayed including Disney's Mulan. The theater industry in particular is bleeding right now, and it looks like Broadway will be closed through the end of 2020, so now is the perfect time to experience the biggest musical of Broadway's modern era, Hamilton.
