When Microsoft announced that the Halo: Master Chief Collection would be released on Steam, fans of the franchise were elated. In the announcement, Microsoft outlined a staggered approach to releasing the series, and will release the Halo games in episodic order beginning with Halo: Reach.

Long has it been since Halo: Reach was first released on the Xbox 360 in 2010, and nearly 10 years later, fans are being gifted an improved version of the game on Steam and Xbox One. With less than 24 hours to go, fans of Halo: Reach are eager to know exactly when they can play the game on their PC and Xbox One.

When is Halo Reach Playable on PC and Xbox One?

The new and improved version of Halo: Reach is set to release on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:00 PM GMT. The assumption currently is that this time will be universal, as there haven't been any alternative dates or times put forward otherwise. Fans looking to get their hands on the definitive version of Halo: Reach can pre-purchase the game on the Windows 10 Store, and begin the pre-loading process of the game's 24.94 GB file size.

For those that simply cannot wait until Wednesday evening, they can play as Noble team right now in Gears 5.

Optimizing the Purchase

PC enthusiasts can purchase Halo: Reach on Steam at just $9.99. However, fans that are interested in playing through all six entries of the Master Chief Collection should purchase the Master Chief Collection at $39.99, considering every Halo coming out after Halo: Reach will be priced at $39.99 individually.

For players who already own the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, buying Halo: Reach individually is their best option. Those interested in subscribing or who already possess a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate should keep in mind that it's possible to play the Windows 10 version of Halo Reach at no additional cost. This value is sensational considering the multitude of other games that become available to active subscribers.

With a future installment coming to the Halo series next year, and a future television series in the works, it seems Halo is here to stay.

Halo: Reach releases December 3rd at 6:00 PM GMT on PC and Xbox One.
