It is no secret that it was coming. A lot of the details about its release were even previously confirmed too. There was even an earlier trailer showing it off. It, is the Halo: Reach Defiant Map Pack. What was not known before, however, was just when gamers would be able to download the new maps.
That changes now.
Microsoft has announced that the Defiant Map Pack will be available on March 15. It will cost 800 MS points, which equals $10. That means in less than a month, gamers will be able to explore, snipe, melee, rocket and experience all the other Halo-multiplayer goodness on the new maps: Condemned, Highlands, and Unearthed.
Sure, a lot of the information about the new maps contained in the Defiant Map Pack has already been released but a solid release date is pretty big news. Perhaps thinking that waiting until March 15 might be a little tough without a little more to hold gamers over, Microsoft also released twelve new screenshots of the maps in action. Actually, maybe looking at the images does not make waiting until March 15 any easier, because some of the action contained in the screens looks like too much fun.

There is certainly something about Halo and especially its multiplayer that lends itself to some amazing screenshots. Maybe it is the bright colors, varied environments, or lasers and explosions... but something about screens from the games just pop. Sure these maps may have not been developed by Bungie but this is not the first time Defiant Map Pack developer Certain Affinity made Halo maps. Hopefully their track record of quality maps continues and the Defiant Map Pack provides even more hours of fun with Halo: Reach.
What are your thoughts? Are you ready to spend your 800 MS points on the Defiant Map Pack come March 15? Is there enough new content here to get you excited about Halo: Reach again? Do you think this is too little, too late? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
