Halo is getting a live-action television series coming exclusively to the Paramount Plus' streaming service. This new show will star Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, who is also Spartan 117 from the video game franchise. Master Chief is the main playable character from the video games.

Halo will follow a similar timeline to the video game, but it doesn't appear to be going for a full recreation of the story. Plot details are still scarce as of right now, but fans can expect to see a lot of easter eggs and callbacks to the games. The production and set design look incredible, as the Halo trailer from Paramount Plus showed off the weapons, armor, ships, and technology that will be making its way from the games into the show.

Entertainment Weekly revealed a new look at the iconic and legendary soldier John-117, commonly known as Master Chief, who will be taking the lead role in this upcoming show. The super soldier will be played by Schreiber (13 Hours, Den of Thieves and Orange Is the New Black). Now fans got a closer look at the character as well as the very game-accurate design of the armor. The show looks to keep things as accurate as possible to the video games so that fans will get a nice treat. Halo is back and it's bigger than ever. The franchise saw the release of a recent video game, it's getting a new show, and the community is the most vocal that it's ever been. Halo has lasted many years and is looking like it won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

The Halo trailer debuted and it's already got fans talking. Many are hoping to see to more of Master Chief's backstory in this show as well as a deeper look into the Spartan program that is often talked about or teased in the video games. Hopefully the show will allow for a deeper understanding of what the games already explored. The world is developed very well in the games, so the show has a lot of source material to work with.

The one issue, however, is that Halo Infinite is releasing in parts. The multiplayer released early as a welcomed surprise for fans of the franchise and was followed by the campaign on the official release date, but what's missing is the ability to replay missions and co-op campaign play.

This becomes an issue when the iconic Halo: Reach released with a full co-op/singleplayer campaign, multiplayer, forge mode, firefight and theater mode all on day one. Hopefully the Halo show will tide fans over while they wait and puts the franchise in a good light.

Halo will be streaming on Paramount Plus in 2022
