Halo fans may be focused on the upcoming Halo Infinite more than anything else, but Halo: The Master Chief Collection is still getting new content on a regular basis. In fact, Halo: The Master Chief Collection Season 8 is expected to kick off later this month, and now the developers at 343 Industries have shown off some of the armor that fans will get to unlock in the game. And as it so happens, it's some of the most impressive armor that's been released for Halo: The Master Chief Collection to date.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection Season 8 is called Mythic, and it will be adding impressive new armor sets that players can use to customize their Mjolnir armor when playing Halo 3 multiplayer matches. The Halo MCC Season 8 armor looks to Greek mythology for inspiration, and if it's any indication of what fans can expect when it comes to Halo Infinite cosmetics, it seems that there's a lot for fans to look forward to.

Here are a few of the more impressive Halo MCC Season 8 helmets. It's unclear exactly when Halo fans will get the chance to unlock them as the Season 8 start date has not been announced at the time of this writing, but it should go live by the end of the month. These new Halo MCC Season 8 armor sets are primarily meant for Halo 3, but the helmets will still be available to use elsewhere. While fans can't expect to use these cosmetics in most of the Halo games that make up the Master Chief Collection, they will be available to use in Halo: Reach. This way, Halo fans can get a little more mileage out of the cosmetics than they would otherwise.

Halo: Reach is one of the newest additions to the Master Chief Collection, so it's good to see it getting some cosmetic love with Season 8. As it stands, Halo: The Master Chief Collection encompasses nearly every main series Halo game released to date, with the exception being Halo 5: Guardians. It's unclear if Halo 5 will ever be looped into the Master Chief Collection, though it seems unlikely since the game is already readily available to play on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X if anyone's interested in doing so.

Halo Infinite cosmetics have been teased as being much more over-the-top than fans usually expect from Halo games, and perhaps the Season 8 helmets are a preview of what fans can expect. While they wait for more information on Halo Infinite, fans of Xbox's flagship franchise can play The Master Chief Collection to help pass the time.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is out now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
