While many fans of the franchise will be looking forward to Halo Infinite at E3 2019, it turns out that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also be there showcasing some of its progress on the PC version. More than that, though, developer 343 Industries has officially weighed in on the forthcoming beta and released some gameplay on the first game coming to beta, Halo: Reach.

For those not in the know, Halo: The Master Chief Collection PC beta was supposed to begin back in April but was delayed without a new beta date. As unfortunate as this is, it's worth mentioning that this delay was credited to the complexity of the project, and given that the developers are building it from the ground up as opposed as to a straight-up port, it's an ambitious project for sure. But 343 Industries is ready to show more, as beyond appearing at E3 2019, the PC beta is now scheduled to begin sometime in June.

Those excited for the PC beta should know that it will begin with Halo: Reach first, and members of Microsoft's Halo Insider program will get the chance to play first. E3 2019 attendees will have the ability to check out the "Tip of the Spear" mission from Halo: Reach, and the first Halo: Master Chief Collection PC beta test will begin sometime around E3 2019. An exact date wasn't revealed, but more information will likely become available in the coming days.

On the subject, community director Brian Jarrard said that bringing the PC version of Halo: Master Chief Collection to E3 before Insider access is not ideal, so it's all likely to happen in close proximity. Plus, in a recent live stream of Halo: Reach on PC, the developers discussed some of the major PC changes in addition to showing off some new gameplay that can be checked out here on Mixer.

Some of the specific PC details include how the developers want Halo: The Master Chief Collection to feel like a native PC game complete with button-mapping, the FOV slider, higher resolutions, anti-cheat measures, and the new progression system. 343 Industries also made it clear that it currently has no plans for split-screen or mod support at launch, but that it could come later.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on Xbox One and will be coming to PC later this year.
