While there is an extensive list of games confirmed to be at E3 2018, Microsoft has held its secrets tightly to its chest. One of the most anticipated titles that could appear during the tech giant's conference is Halo 6, and if rumors indicate anything, it may not be alone. Apparently, the "word on the street" is that a new addition to the Microsoft exclusive first-person shooter franchise known as Halo Infinity is getting announced.

This information comes from Brad Sams, an editor for Thurott.com, which is noteworthy because the site has been correct about Microsoft rumors in the past. It's also worth mentioning that the site isn't batting 100% on its predictions, but has enough success with rumors to give this prediction some credibility. Of course, assuming Halo Infinity is announced alongside Halo 6, we still don't know what type of game it will be.

With as little that is known at this point, Halo Infinity could be any number of things. It could easily be a new game in the style of Halo: Reach or Halo Wars, or given the increasing trend, it could even be a battle royale game. Since Halo 6 has also been hush-hush, it's remotely possible that Halo Infinity is the name for the next main installment in the franchise. Check out Sams' suggestion below:

For those players who dislike the growing battle royale trend, it's worth mentioning that it isn't likely, especially considering it's possible that Gears of War will be receiving the battle royale treatment. It's unlikely the tech giant would double-down on the trend for two of its exclusive franchises, and Gears of War may be better received on that front.

Of course, until any or all of this is revealed by Microsoft, it's best taken with a grain of salt. For those interested in witnessing a potential Halo reveal, Microsoft's E3 press conference is slated to take place this Sunday at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM BST. Stay tuned in, Ranters!

Halo 6 has yet to be officially announced.
