Even though Microsoft's upcoming X018 event is set to both celebrate and promote the future of Xbox gaming, one of the company's upcoming AAA titles will not be making the trip to the event, Halo Infinite. While the game was revealed during Microsoft's E3 press conference this past June, 343 Industries looks to be taking things in stride and are willing to wait before revealing more.

The exclusion from the X018 event was confirmed by 343 Industries community manager Brian Jarrard, who responded to a question on Twitter:

"I'd love to start getting more info out there, and we're talking internally about what/when/where/how, but nothing currently planned for X018."

With knowing there won't be any news of Halo Infinite at X018, it may still be a while before fans hear anything at all. Given the close proximity of both Microsoft's event, which takes place from November 10th - 11th, and The Game Awards scheduled for December 7th, it seems likely there may not be any new information about Halo Infinite until E3 next year.

While there isn't any timetable on when fans can expect to finally play Halo Infinite, Microsoft has done the best it can by offering all of the franchise's preceding games as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription. As far as what's known so far for Halo Infinite, it will indeed be a continuation of the story of Master Chief. There is also confirmation that the game will not include a battle-royale mode, unlike fellow AAA first-person shooters Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V.

Still, if Microsoft and 343 Industries plan to release Halo Infinite for Xbox One, the studio is running out of time to do so. Microsoft has confirmed that the newest console is in development, code-named Project Scarlet, and it is expected to release sometime in 2020.

Halo Infinite is expected to release on both PC and Xbox One at an unspecified date.
