Halo Infinite's early multiplayer access came as a major but welcome surprise to fans who have been waiting to play the title ever since it was announced and now that it's here, players have been messing around with the game's mechanics in pretty interesting ways. One video of the multiplayer shows a player truly embodying the spirit of "No Spartan Left Behind" as they save a fellow teammate using a Wasp in an unconventional way.

Posted to the sub-Reddit r/Halo, Reddit user u/Mane22316 was piloting a Wasp around Halo Infinite's Highpower map when they saw a friendly Spartan tumble over the edge of a cliff to near-certain doom. Despite the Spartan's best efforts to use a grappling hook to save themselves, they weren't able to get over the ledge to safety until u/Mane22316 swooped in to save the day.

Using the flat top of the Wasp, they were able to get underneath the falling Spartan and act as a platform for them to stand on while u/Mane22316 flew them back to the safety of the solid ground above. Responding to a comment on the original post, u/Mane22316 revealed that the Spartan they saved "continued his happy life" and didn't show any form of gratitude for the save. That said, Halo Infinite's multiplayer doesn't have much in the form of emotes or communication lines other than voice chat, so it's possible that they simply didn't have a way to express their thanks.

Plenty of commenters on the original post noted that Halo Infinite has proven to be a great thing for Halo's community as its Big Team Battles reward players for helping one another and prioritize teamwork above all else with u/Mane22316's video being a prime example of the true spirit of the game. After all, most of Halo Infinite's vehicles can seat more than one person and team games require coordination to win, so it makes sense that players would be helping one another out in any way that they can.

Halo Infinite's Wasp has been a particularly interesting addition to the game's multiplayer as it opens the door to further the possibilities of aerial combat. That said, players have begun using it for more than just dogfighting, however, as its flat top allows it to be used as a levitating platform like in u/Mane22316's video and it can also be a point for players to grapple onto to gain an aerial advantage in places where there aren't any.

Halo Infinite will be released on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on December 8. Multiplayer is currently available in beta.
