Quick Resume is one of Xbox Series X's most useful features, but it hasn't been functioning properly with Halo Infinite. Fortunately, 343 Industries has released a new hotfix that should improve Halo Infinite's performance after using Quick Resume.

Those who have been gaming on Xbox Series X can attest to the convenience and usefulness of Quick Resume. Using this feature allows players to suspend multiple games indefinitely, so that when they're ready to jump back in, they can return to the spot right where they paused the game in just a couple of seconds. While most games across the Xbox family of systems—going back to the original Xbox console—are compatible with Quick Resume, it is a feature that must be added to games so that it can work properly, meaning it is not intrinsically available for all games. Halo Infinite as a flagship Xbox title supports Quick Resume, but there have been some problems with it when put to use.

The new Halo Infinite hotfix should alleviate some frustrations caused by Quick Resume. Players were previously reporting that content unlocked after returning to the game from Quick Resume was not saving, essentially sending those unlocks to the void. 343 Industries describes the fix on the official Halo Support website, noting that connecting to the game's online services after using Quick Resume has received improvements. "Players should see quicker and more stable reconnections to our services," 343 Industries writes specifically.

Despite currently still being a single-player experience, Halo Infinite's campaign still requires an online connection if players' are to get the most out of it. One of the primary collectibles strewn about Zeta Halo are MJOLNIR Armor Lockers, containing Spartan cosmetics for the player to equip in multiplayer. Unfortunately, if one happened to be offline—like they had just re-entered the game from Quick Resume—and found one of these collectibles, in-campaign it would be considered discovered, while back in the general Halo Infinite system, the collectible would not be counted. With the limited amount of free cosmetics in the game, fans definitely wanted to secure these unlocks.

Obviously, players on PC will be unaffected by this portion of the hotfix, as they do not have Quick Resume functionality. Nonetheless, PC players can still be affected by limbo unlocks if they happen to disconnect from Halo Infinite's services while playing campaign. With this hotfix, it is another instance of 343 Industries quickly listening to players and rolling out a fix to stop the bleeding, having already done so many times in just the couple weeks since Halo Infinite's launch. After saying it wouldn't be until next year when these modes arrive, 343 Industries brought dedicated Slayer, SWAT, and Fiesta playlists to Halo Infinite, making many fans very happy.

Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
