Halo fans have been eagerly waiting for any news regarding Halo Infinite since it was revealed at 2019's E3. Xbox has released a lot more information about the title during and following its showcase at this year's E3, including what players can expect from Halo Infinite's campaign and multiplayer offerings.

From what Xbox has shared, Halo Infinite will include a number of new features for the Halo franchise. This includes a semi-open world during the campaign as well as a number of new guns, vehicles, equipment, and a new battle pass feature just for Halo Infinite.

Of course, there is much about Halo Infinite that players won't know until they get their hands on it themselves. The game has no release window beyond a somewhat vague holiday 2021, but some players may get lucky enough to try it out during a Technical Test sometime this summer. There has not been any information on what will be included with the Test, but it will assumedly give fans a look at some of the various new weapons, vehicles, and modes coming to Halo Infinite's multiplayer. Any fans who are hoping for a chance to participate in the Technical Test can sign up on Halo Waypoint to be considered.

Halo Infinite's multiplayer will be free-to-play in a new move for the series, as well as its entire campaign being included with Xbox Game Pass. This has caused some fans to worry about how the mode will be monetized, but it should help Halo Infinite attract more players who are new to Halo while helping sustain the game's player base as well. For any new players, the developers have also revealed that Halo Infinite will feature an all-new Academy Mode to help new players jump into multiplayer and learn the ropes. With how many new features the mode is incorporating, however, there will definitely be quite a lot for players to look at when the Technical Test comes around.

Developer 343 Industries has not said exactly when in the summer players should expect the Technical Test to come around. With the announcement that Halo Infinite will feature full cross-play and cross-progression, there will surely be many fans looking to jump into the game on both Xbox consoles as well as PC. Hopefully, the test can accommodate all of the fans who sign up and are interested in checking the game out, but any fans who don't get in shouldn't have too much longer to wait for Halo Infinite's full release.

Halo Infinite is scheduled to release this holiday season on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
