The structure of Halo Infinite's free events came under heavy scrutiny earlier this week, fans complaining about the rewards being offered and the limited progression possible. With many more events planned, the rewards for the upcoming Tactical Ops week have leaked, sparking questions about Halo Infinite's free offerings.

This past week saw the launch of Halo Infinite's first free event, Fracture: Tenrai, and player reaction was not too favorable. As mentioned, the aggravations of players stem from the rewards being offered, the event mostly being filled with player boosts and minimal cosmetics, and how players cannot even progress all the way through the event, as tiers are tied to challenges and only a handful of them were made available. Another problem that players have made vocal is the heavy monetization of cosmetics, with Halo Infinite charging $7-8 for armor coatings shaded blue and red, reflecting the apparent lack of free customization.

A leaker has revealed the rewards coming in Halo Infinite's future Tactical Ops event. The user by the name of @_FireMonkey shared the event's rewards on Twitter, writing, "Test your aim in a high stakes battle," the event apparently running from February 8, 2022 to February 21, 2022. Rewards available in this event include the "Claw Patrol" Spartan Pose at Rank 1, a red and black Mark 7 Armor Coating titled "Scorpion Punch" at Rank 4, and the Mark 5 Zeta helmet at Rank 5. Tactical Ops and some other events were previously by 343 Industries in the run up to Fracture: Tenrai.

In a follow-up post, @_FireMonkey discusses the potential limited-time game mode that is coming with Tactical Ops. From their datamine, the titles "Tactical: Slayer Stalkers," "Tactical: Slayer Commandos," "Tactical: Slayer Sidekicks," and "Tactical: Slayer Manglers" were found. They write, "This *Might* be the Tactical Ops Playlist based on the name "Tactical" being used," which seems logical. However, considering this week's Fracture: Tenrai event has Fiesta Slayer as its limited-time mode, the name being found in those modes' titles may not necessarily guarantee them as the Tactical Ops playlists.

Based on @_FireMonkey's leak, it appears that the Tactical Ops event may be an example of a non-recurring Halo Infinite event. As mentioned, Fracture: Tenrai's progression has been spread across the multiple appearances its planned to have, with users only being able to rank up a handful of times a week before it returning a couple months later. If Tactical Ops only has 10 ranks, then it seems likely that all 10 ranks could be accessible in this event—unless this is just 10 ranks out of 30 and the remainders have yet to be found yet. Perhaps by then some of Halo Infinite's other progression and battle pass related issues will have been addressed.

The Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with the full game releasing on December 8.
