To date, 343 Industries has kept much of Halo Infinite's plot secret, instead choosing to focus more on how the game plays and saving narrative reveals for later down the line. While 343 itself hasn't revealed much in regards to story beats or characters that will potentially appear in Halo Infinite, an actor who allegedly worked on the game let slip some details that give fans an idea of what to expect from the narrative.

In a Fadam and Friends podcast appearance, actor Verlon Roberts let slip that he has been working on Halo Infinite, providing voice and motion capture work for the character Spartan Griffin. Furthermore, Roberts indicated that he has recorded scenes with Master Chief's actor, meaning the two characters must meet at some point in the story. Roberts also suggested that the new Halo Infinite release date would be some time in November, though it must be stressed that none of this has been confirmed by 343 Industries or Microsoft at the time of this writing.

Casual Halo fans likely have no idea who Spartan Griffin is, but diehards may recognize the name from the Halo: Shadows of Reach novel or the Mega Bloks toys that have been made based on the character. For those who don't know who Spartan Griffin is, here's a brief summary, though be warned that there actually isn't a whole lot that is known about this particular Halo character just yet.

Who is Spartan Griffin?

Spartan Griffin has made a singular appearance in Halo media, having appeared in the Halo: Shadows of Reach novel. Spartan Griffin is part of Fireteam Taurus, which also consists of Spartans Vettel, Oshiro, and Dimka. In Shadows of Reach, Spartan Griffin and the other members of Fireteam Taurus go on a mission to the planet Reach. Beyond these details, there isn't much else that's known about Spartan Griffin, and so fans can likely expect his backstory to be more fully-fleshed out in the upcoming Halo Infinite video game.

Griffin's Mission

Griffin's mission to the planet Reach puts the Spartan in conflict with the Banished, who are set to be the primary antagonists of Halo Infinite. This could help to explain why Spartan Griffin is apparently going to be in Halo Infinite, and so it seems that Shadows of Reach could very well be something that Halo enthusiasts will want to read while they wait to get their hands on the new game.

Halo Infinite will launch in 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
